I haven't seen U2713HM in person but I got this U2711 from the last deal. I ordered it first then read the reviews after. I found out that people are complaining about the AG coating, ghosting, and input lag.

But when I received it, it was pefect. The reviews are so overrated and I couldn't be happier with it. Perfect for my gaming rig with FPS shooters.

I bought 2 in the deal from best buy last year. Couldn't be happier.

I really want one of these, but would like to get additional points on my Amazon card

I tried U2711 and yes my eyes cannot bear the grainy effect when screen has bright, large area. It seems to me the screen is always dirty when reading some document, or processing some photos. U2713HM has a light coating and doesn't have such issue. But, its color space is much narrorwer than U2711. If the grainy effect of the U2711 (same thing U2410, U3011) is not an issue for you, surely U2711 is the thing you need.

BTW, Costco has U2713HM @ 650$. So this is a deal.

Amazing deal once again. I'd get one if I didn't already have an Overlord OC and Overlord ME. I'd probably have gotten this over the ME...Nothing can match the OC for gaming greatness though except for the now overpriced Catleap OCs!

I'd say it's pretty good, considering it is also $649 at Amazon right now.

EDIT: My bad... it's the 2713 @ Amazon for $649. Not sure what the differences are. Maybe 2713 is a newer model?

bought this monitor during last deal - VERY disappointed. Cross-hatching was horrible. For this price I expected so much more. The talk about colors being good is absolute BS. IPS is SO overhyped I couldnt believe it. Sure viewing angles are better - but not from all angles, colors vary quite a lot from top to bottom

Anyway, sent back the monitor - decision will come at the end of the week what will happen. (didnt buy from dell, local retailer)

manufacturing date was june 2012 which were supposed to be crappy.

Anyway - if you dont really need it - dont buy it. Soon we will have 4k res monitors anyway

I would get the newer version which is the same price on Amazon.

The newer version's anti-glare coating is much better. U2711 had a really harsh and agrreisve coating which can makes the whites look grainy.

Why do people pay such a high premium for a dell monitor? It doesn't go past 60hz. good warranty? sure. How often do monitors break? never.

They use the exact same panel for the cheapo korean knockoffs that you can overclock.
