Third time's the charm, I guess. After insisting that the rep talk to other reps in her dept., she found out that others knew about it and apparently someone decided enough people called in about this mistake that they plan to honor it for a while. Of course anything they say now they could go back on the next moment.

It's truly a place where the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Getting a deal shouldn't be this hard.

I just called 18882378289 ; waited after the message and said "more options" this got me to an operator which transferred me to the home theater sales team.

Don't remember my rep's name. But she put me on hold for a min to check with her supervisor. Came back and said this has been an issue today and saw the setup is on sale until tomorrow at $149.99.

Thanks. I got the home theater sales team too, but I had to wait almost 15 minutes on hold. The rep knew nothing about it and said sorry I can't honor that price, but fortunately she was willing to ask others in the dept. when I insisted, and then they honored it.

She never said anything about it was "supposed to be on sale for $149.99 today" but rather enough people have called about it that they decided to honor it. So we still don't know if this was a sale they pulled early or a price mistake. How I wish they would learn to think their deals through before publishing rather than taking them away and making us jump through hoops and waste time to get the deal if we're lucky. It's almost like one hand decides to put something on sale and another hand sees the price and cancels it declaring it a mistake. Then one part of RZ decides not to honor the deal while another part does. Truly YMMV.

Can't they just learn to communicate with each other and figure out things ahead of time? It's not like this is a new company. They should know better by now.

I got it!!!!!! I guess third time is the charm. The rep mentioned it being a door buster item that is no longer showing at that price but that she was going to granted. Bam.

As we all know that Best Buy.com is a horror show. I do not know where they got their online customer service reps but they are horrible. I was hung up on twice was told by 1 that she would call back I was told by another that the order was all set and ready to go placed the order and she ordered the wrong thing. This was after I already confirmed with her the model number and sku number from the website for this onkyo system.

supposedly I have an order in for the correct system now. I do not trust Best Buy in any way shape or form so we shall see if this actually gets delivered or if Best Buy plays its regular game and will tell us that it was a price mistake and they have canceled all orders.

Called and got denied, they said it's an early bird special so only a limited number of units can be sold at that price otherwise BB will lose too much money.

In chat with BB now, although I doubt I'll be able to get "Erica M" to honor.

Got in for the HT-RC430 deal though, so I guess that's okay.

EDIT: Got the deal! For anyone looking for the same here's what I did. Noticed that the system still comes up at $149.99 in the related items page for the HT-RC430. Got through to the home theatre order department and told that to the helpful rep and she had no problem giving me the deal.

So stoked on this. Had an AVR-1700 + Jamo A102HCS6 system lined up but this is way cheaper and does all that I will need given that it's my first home theatre system.

did anyone tried at bestbuy local stores?

Where do you see reviews on this on Amazon? When I search model number HT3400 is showing up which has some issues with receiver.
