Believe what you want, those with common sense should stay away.

There's a remote risk of dying instantly any time you walk outside your house. Or stay inside your house.
Doesn't sound like cancer to me. Changing the subject again?
Also the fact that it produces formaldehyde as it breaks down should be concern enough. Formaldehyde is a known human carcinogen, hence Aspartame can cause cancer. This isn't a massive logical leap here. Also the methanol in fruit argument is bogus because it only occurs in canning of the fruit, i.e., select circumstance and in a far lower concentration than aspartame.
I'm not changing the subject, I'm offering further evidence why you shouldn't be drinking this stuff. But if people want to continue being fat asses, that's entirely their prerogative.

Here's wikipedia debunking that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame_controversy#Safety_and_health_effects
And snopes: http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/aspartame.asp
By the way, why hasn't anyone put together a class action lawsuit and sued soda companies if aspartame is such a "dangerous" poison? Seems like such an easy case to win! Oh wait... because there is no case.
I can't vouch for Mercola, it was the first search result I found when searching "aspartame Pepsi Next" and also the one that, as I said, lists three terrible ingredients in what might as well be a flavored laboratory beaker that people are shoving down their throats in mass quantity thinking it's a healthy alternative to digesting calories or *actual* sugar (god forbid we go back to using THAT stuff).
You want to coat your gullet with chemical waste, by all means, be my guest.
Good day, sir.
I think part of all this confusion is over the idea behind the terms "will definitely get" or "could possibly get". We don't have the medical advancements to determine, "will definitely get" yet, but we can identify compounds which result in increases to cancer risk. And this is really a debate over how much it will elevate your cancer risk and for me, any elevation at all is unacceptable.
