big con for tungsten or titanium rings: they are nearly impossible to remove by ER staff in case of an emergency. gold and silver are fairly easy to cut right off, but with these strong metals, you might be looking at losing a finger for vanity. as a motorcyclist, there is no way I would wear a ring of either of these metals.

This 2 for 1 deal is a crock of crap. In the past, these very rings from Tanga have been on the front page at $7 each. Basic case of mark it up to mark it down.

This is a shitty deal, and there's little doubt in my mind that Tanga is paying for a front page slot here.

I paid 3 dollars for my titanium beer opener off of newegg.

I have to recommend against getting this if you want something that is going to stay that nice looking forever. While titanium is a nice metal, it is still easily scratched over time and loses it's mirror like polish. On the Moh's hardness scale titanium is around a 6. This is the scale that measures a substances resistance. Moh's Hardness scale [wikipedia.org] Tungsten carbide on the other hand has greatly superior scratch resistance. It is a 9-9.5 (A diamond being a 10) It's is very hard metal and will be much more difficult to scratch. Yes titanium is very light and you will find a tungsten ring much heavier but with time you should get use to it.

Also to note, I have worn a titanium wedding band now for almost 2 years and it looks very poor compared to how it use to look. You can tell by looking at the nice polished surface on the inside and compare it to the outside of the ring.

That is simply not true. Call your local ER, they are well equipped to remove these rings. This has been a myth that people love to keep telling.

For those of you asking why someone would choose titanium, one of the reasons is it's hypoallergenic.

These make great "fat rings".

I've purchased titanium rings from Tanga during previous deals ($6 each + $6 shipping, which makes this a slightly better deal for just 2 rings) to accommodate my fatter-than-wedding-day ring finger. They were perfect for that purpose. They were comfortable, attractive at a glace, and most importantly they kept the ladies at bay during my huskier days.

I've since lost the extra weight and now I need some cheap rings to take the place of my expensive wedding band, which is now slightly too small on cold days. I purchased two more rings during this deal to wear when I do things with a higher likelihood of losing a ring.
