I can't imagine the donor phone would still work on Page Plus or Verizon anyway.

Plus there is software involved. Not sure how much that costs but its all over Google. I'm tempted to try it now

Virgin Mobile (uses Sprint's CDMA network) as a carrier is the biggest roadblock, slow speeds, and can't use the phone on any other carrier. Better to get a GSM based Android phone (they're cheap nowadays too, such as the LG L9), and pick any carrier among TMobile ($30/mo 5GB data + 100 mins), Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, GoSmartMobile ($35/mo unlimited everything + 2G data), or PlatinumTel (5c/min, 2c/txt, 10c/MB) pay-as-you-go.

i'd agree with the consensus on here. unless you're comfortable with virgin mobile's speed/coverage, i'd suggest flashing it to another carrier or picking up a GSM phone. hardware-wise, this is a pretty nice deal for most people.

Virgin mobile is trash. I ran a sprint Galaxy SII Epic Touched (esn spoofed as an optimus v) on the $25 plan and I left the network for straight talk. It was worth the extra $20 a month for unlimited everything and at&t data speeds.

The 4g coverage is also clear based so if you get good service with clear wire currently you will get the same type of service with the virgin mobile service. I aM told they are not throttling any longer on any accounts so its truly unlimited internet now adays too.
