nope not distorted, it fell off my wifes car and got ran over who knows how many times.
last i heard from canon (when i had to send my S95 back) they only covered it inside of the first year and i had to pay shipping there. and yes i now see they have different batteries. does anyone recommend a good source to buy from besides Canon since they are so expensive?

That's my line of thinking as well. Rx100/s100 will fit in your pants pocket. mirrorless can fit in a jacket pocket. DSLR has to go in a bag, or be carried on a strap.

Different beasts for different situations. Who the heck carries a DSLR with them absolutely everywhere they go? S100 can go with me anywhere I can wear pants... which is literally anywhere

Distortion from whatever you used to take that photo then. And yes, canon products have a 1-year warranty--though if you purchased with a Visa or Amex, that warranty is increased to 2 years--though the damage you suffered was user-inflicted, and not under the warranty guidelines anyhow.

You can search for "genuine canon" batteries of the proper model. Even well-used ones should have at least 2/3 of their original batterylife left.

While impressed with the Sony, I don't like the lens. I'd like something a little wider.

Larger max aperture and 24mm would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath on a refresh within a year. It's still a pretty amazing camera, given the form factor.

i ordered mine earlier today when it was showing out of stock, but a tracking number came several hours later.

I've waited months for this moment! The LX7's price has been hovering around $450 is for a month now and just very recently it dropped down to $348. So just out of curiosity, I googled "Slickdeals LX7" and BAM! $289!

I should of jumped on it earlier when I was at work. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Perhaps an RX100 will suffice.

lol, yup, you're right. They removed the black and white models, even though white is still in stock. In fact, I still have the white version in my cart for $289, but the product link goes back to the main page now. Looks like I could still check out if I wanted to.

ah, was still in my cart from yesterday so I went ahead and bit.
I want the rx100, but at about twice as much...eh.

great camera, but it is very bulky to carry around in the pocket, this is not a "jeans" camera.

It still shows in my cart wonder if i should jut get it, just can't decide

edit: ok i bought it and a 32gb sd card and the automatic lens
