I'm guessing you bought one when Olympus were clearing them out? If you take plenty of videos the LX7 is much better. If you don't care for video then just keep the xz-1.

He basically said to take online advice with a grain of salt, and illustrated why he felt that way. He also gave his opinions on the cameras that he had owned and may have expressed some thoughts on brand quality. He did not portray his opinions as fact and I don't think that he set out to offend anyone. I think you take a few breaths and reread his post.

I have noticed several threads with pretty rude comments on SD in the last few days. I have been busy with other things and havent been frequenting SD forums for a while. In the past, I was amazed at how polite people were to each other, on huge site. I believe the level of civility has dropped on this site, in the past several years. That is unfortunate.

I'm not trying to single you out in this post, but I honestly had to look up GTFOOH. Not good.....If you own the LX7, you could easily post a more beneficial post.

Im camera dumb. I recently bought the S100 and I may consider trading for the LX7 at this price. The more compact size may be the factor that makes me stay with the S100, but Im eager to read more opinions on this camera.

How does this compare to the olympus xz-1?

I had use s95, s100, lx7 and now rx100 is my keeper. RX100 beat all of them, outdoor can be hard to tell a bit, but indoor is when major different kick in, rx100 outshine all of then by big margin indoor and video. LX7 has better macro and able to take image while shooting video also does decent in 3d.

Video is clearly worst than rx100 and also s100. However it does zoom much further. Focus speed is better than s100 but lag behind rx100. I don't like the cap cover that much, rx100 is my keeper. I was able to take image that even my friend who use Nikon D800 was impress mostly the indoor shot. LX7 has hot shot which is great. but my rx100 can bounce flash. However i would need to ajust the flash a bit but with some adjustment my image come out real good.

I almost wanted to keep my lx7 but video quality was not lived up my expectation. the 120fps 720p is quite good but the video has so much noise.

I have a DSLR that I love with great lenses. The only reason why I am considering getting the LX7 is only for the 720P 120 FPS movie feature for slow motion footage. Does anyone have any insights on filming with this camera?

out of curiosity. If you have a S95, S100, and the LX7, why get the rx-100? For the price you may as well get a NEX-5 and not repeat on getting the latest P&S.

With how big the price difference is between the LX7 and the RX100, comparing them is similar to comparing a DSLR to a m4/3.

Any particular question regarding high speed mode? As far as movie mode in general the LX7 has a pretty advanced features set for its class. You have access to PASM in Creative movie, has good continuous AF but can also do manual AF and also the built-in ND filter is very useful in large aperture bright light conditions.
