The ones i mentioned are all 17" screens, if you want 15" screens then you want the G55/53 or G46 if you want 14". You get way more bang for your buck, but they will be refurbished or used if you don't mind that, sometimes there are some new ones on there too. I know I didn't mind it when I got my G73. Also I don't mind the weight at all it sits on a desk when I am some where most of the time. Also use it as a home computer backup when my main has issues, like a failing graphics card which i am currently experiencing (MSI sucks no Advanced RMA options).

for $100 more I would do the y500 or y580 with 1080p though - $900 or less. If this was in $600 range would be hot. I own the y480 and it have an awful viewing angle. The only thing I can say about it is its very reliable, webcam, video card, lots of usb ports, the fan runs when there's a load but its never hot. The bottom is never either.

nope, I have experience with HP.

I purchased one in 2007 and heavily used it for gaming under low graphics quality. Its still up and running, and I resold it for my money back. (HP Pavilion DV6646US)

But yeah, Lenovo have some really good deals but I *believe* that they are using low quality parts in their build.

Why do I hear so much complaints about lenovo's touchpad?

I have a z480(ivy I5 6gb ram 6cell 720p and dvd cost half as much as this deal) and it took a little bit of playing with the settings to get the touchpad to a point which my girlfriend liked. Major thing is that tap to click option AND reducing sensitivity a tad and there is some setting to get it to ignore palm touches. Works great now!

I personally thought it was fine on factory settings, but some people had trouble typing and the cursor jumping around. Easy fix really.

Some people are just too lazy and or stupid to adjust settings and simply
cant handle that.

The Y500 on SD going for $900 at Newegg is an SLI GT650M (meaning 2 gpus; one in the ultrabay), and it's a bigger screen and 1080p. That's a smoking deal hence the amount of thumbs up. If you need to have the i7 you can pay the extra $150 and get the other Newegg model. Question you should ask yourself is if you game a lot and newer titles or not.

Congrats you just won the lottery! HP IS PROBABLY THE WORST LAPTOP MAKER EVER IMO! I've had 2 Compaq(made by HP) and 1 HP laptops crap out on me after 2 years of used! I've had a dell laptop that's still running after 6 years! HP is crap.. Don't know mich about Lenovo though.. I did just buy one and should be receibing it tomorow..
