But I was desperate with the snow coming, and the package ended up being late anyway for the big storm. Do you think it's worth returning this cable and getting the one from HD? The US Wire cable looks superior but its not worth 3X the price. Thoughts?

You could get two of these and make a 150ft cord for ~$40 if you just needed something light duty, but if you've already bought and used the other one, might as well keep it.
Stopped by store in Frederick, MD.. had them in middle of aisle with the $19.99 price on them.. 3 more boxes besides the open one on top, so at least 40 there when I left.

Side note for everyone who bought these, I was talking to an old co-worker today; the owner of the company he works for (commercial electrical) bought a bunch of 50' 12/3 Workforce cords. He said they've burned up a few cord ends. Still, at this price, I have no problem spending a few bucks to throw a set of new cord ends on. I'm probably going to go pick up a few more cords tomorrow for my Dad in Detroit who couldn't get any.
I have a 14/3 SJEOW cord that stays outside all winter that I use for starting the snowblower (electric start, no battery option) and also for the block heaters on my Jeep and my fiances car. It's nice getting in the car in the morning and instantly having heat
Otherwise, aside from length they will, electrically their performance will be identical. In all other seasons, they're basically the same. The Workhorse cord is a 2 wheel drive Chevy, the US Wire cord is a 4 wheel drive GMC
Nicest extension cord I've ever owned. Much better than the cheap orange ones I'm used to. Good deal
