it's sold by virgin mobile, a CDMA carrier
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sams...Mobile_USA the phone is CDMA version, SPH-D710 http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_g...h-3956.php NOT A GSM device... there are multiple versions of Samsung S2 (i dislike such model numbers as well [gsmarena.com]) |
Same phone as Sprint Epic 4G Touch (WiMax 4G). Check for WiMax protection sites [s4gru.com] with Sensorly (Android/iPhone App)

I had the Triumph before the Evo 4G, both with VM. I even switched PRL's on the Triumph. The Triumph has terrible sensitity. In my house I would get anywhere between no bars to one bar, sometimes 1X data. With the Evo 4G I get between 2 and full bars and either 3G or 4G. My point is, if you are having iffy signal strength out there, get a different phone. The Triumph isn't doing you any favors!

Quote from RyGuy1 Location Specific: For those on Long Island looking at VM with this deal for the first time, I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend it! I have the Motorola Triumph, difficult to get 1-2 signal strength for calls East of exit 51 Deer Park.

This is pre-paid. Most people don't need a state of the art phone.
