i've owned mio, magellen and garmin. hands down garmin is best imho. this one has lane assist with photoReal junction views which very accurately shows you upcoming moves and even exit signs. it makes it very easy to use not make mistakes on the road...
it also has lifetime maps (a must have in my opinion). also nice to have lifetime traffic alerts too.
This link to review of actual driving navigation but seems ok. Note the review is for 5inch model but otherwise same as the on in post.

TigerDirect has had the same model (refurbished) for $20 to $30 cheaper in the past
Refurbished is basically as good as new with Garmin... since it comes with a full factory warranty.

T-Mobile, AT&T, work with data and voice at same time in most of the country. Once you get the maps and start driving on android you don't use data. I used voice and data for years since I happend to have HTC phones on sprint and verizon that could do that in NYC area. Crazy that my 2.5 yr old phone could do this but verizon/iphone didn't bother to do this on 4s and 5!
So i have it paired to my car bluetooth, get directions and begin to drive. While driving, I;m listening to music on the phone. Navigation screen shows me next waypoint, talks when needed and lowers music volume. When calls come in, I can answer, music pause, but navigation will still talk IF a turn is approaching.
I used this every day for the last 3yrs and it really got WAY better now. In the past It would heat up my phone and lockup at times. I just drove 350miles only in downtown chicago running around for my sis wedding. rental car gps was not working so I used my phone exactly like this. It even uses VERY little data, since I am on pageplus and last month only had the 250mb plan. My sis, and everyone else seemed to call me every 2 seconds...so I know navigation didn't need data much. Google Now and traffic alerts saved my ass tons. I would have missed getting to pickup the rings due to early friday commute traffic.
1. when i upgraded my plan i lost my unlimited data.
2. i like to use my phone in car via bluetooth and have a separate stand alone gps available - its just easier that way and more convenient ffor me.
