one question, this is a lifetime product. But if you install, have to format the computer and then re-install. Can you use the same key? or once it is installed, never format the computer?

Please share the link you found saying there is no difference.

People on SD have often said that OEM version cannot be transferred from 1 PC to a replacement PC, white retail can, but I do not know this for sure.

Looking to reformat my HD in the next couple of months. Will there be any issue installing it now, then installing it again after I re-install windows?

Well the 'lifetime' is not exactly a lifetime... I mean I don't expect to use the same laptop 5 years from now though for $11.99 (Newegg reviewers indicate the license is not transferable), it is still fairly cheap even though you only use your system for 3 years.

Not a bad deal, good product. But bizarre it got put on FP since this is fairly regularly offered by newegg (and others?) for $10 or even $9 ... search SD if you don't believe me. A $9 deal in Dec & multiple $10 deals in Nov barely got any thumbs up, and here everyone are falling all over each other to thumb-up a $12 price.


I think I got my two copies for $7.50 each, if I remember correctly. And those were non-OEM, if that matters to anyone (I didn't care - first thing I did was throw away the boxes)

I purchased the OEM version from newegg. Once you activate the OEM version with the accompanying product ID and key, you are running the regular Pro version. This is directly from the MBAM license agreement on my PC:

Currently the best deal going and it's something everyone is always looking for. Good price/good company selling it/slickdeals gets the kick back on the sale... makes everyone happy and makes front page. The front page is not the best deal ever on a product - it's just items at a good price that they know it's members will find interesting? Maybe a mod can help explain....

i thought you can usually get these free? you guys are saying this is different version?
