i have the regular mohu and I have this - this one on the same tv picks up roughly 30% more stations than the mohu - highly reccomended

How well does this work?

Also curious as to how this compares to the mohuleaf. Perhaps other people can chime in with their setup and broadcast market. Debating whether I should hold out for a mohu or even an amplified one.

Yes. I bought this model as well as the amplified model (5500) from Costco. $30 for regular and $50 for the amplified model. They both worked about as well as my basic RCA bunny ear antenna ($10 from BB). It will vary from household to household obviously, but didn't work well for my home in an urban area.

I'm glad I bought it locally to test out first since I was able to easily return them to Costco.

quick question. i brought one the Leaf one. and do I just remove the Comcast plug from the tv and plug the Leaf one instead?

UHF channels are easy to pick up with indoor antennas. It's VHF channels that are a total $(*#* IMO.

Antennas are tricky things. Before you go and start filling a closet with ones that didn't work out for you I suggest going to tvfool.com and conjure up a signal analysis for your address. This will get you an idea of what you are dealing with. Do you need VHF or UHF or both? How strong are the signals and what direction are they coming from? Will amplified help or hurt? There's so many variables it makes my head spin.

So, ... after you get your tvfool data and if you decide an indoor antenna is right for you I'd head over to the avs forum (http://www.avsforum.com/t/1037779...d-up-guide) where a member has tested and commented on quite a few brands and models. Every situation is different so his results may not match up with your situation but you can weed out the real junkers.

I have the amplified hdtv antenna from Monoprice & it's much better than my mohu leaf.

I bought this from Costco. Also bought the leaf and a powered one at best buy. This one works the best by far. Leaf was garbage. I have it in my attic and I get all the channels listed on tvfool. I do have a power amplifier which then splits the signal thought my entire house which is almost 10 jacks with no issues at all. Perfect signal to all tv's.

I have a different winegaurd antenna and it works great. Just have it in my closet and the coax cable running to my TV. Great signal.
