Logitech G930 USB Wireless Gaming Headset $85 + Free shipping (expired)

I like these headphones -- but as a person with a normal-sized head and happy with other brands, I found these were extremely tight. It squeezes your head and gives you a headache after about 20 minutes. Maybe it just needs more time to break in, I hope.

Love my pair, completely different sound experience than all of the other normal headphones I've used. When I first got them I had to take them off a few times to make sure my speakers weren't on Mic has been the best for me and I've owned a few gaming headsets. They are also the most comfortable ones I've worn, though it is annoying what it does to your hair (squishes a stripe across the top down).

Paid $75 iirc, definitely worth it! The only thing I wish they had was a hookup for 360 or just 3.5mm input of some sort.

The G930s might not have the best soundstage, but the directional cues more than adequate for casual gaming. Also, to get the best directional cues from the AD700, you'll need a soundcard with Dolby Headphone which will put you back another $25-$30.

If you're not interested in wireless, you're right, there are better options. Comfort is subjective. I've worn the G930s all day and have never thought twice about them once they're on my head. Sound is also subjective, AD700s lack bass, which a lot of people seem to like for casual listening. With the sound card and a decent mic, you're looking at about $50 more total, and your'e not even wireless.

In the end, there are tradeoffs for everything. I'd rather wear my more expensive cans 24/7, but sometimes I need to be mobile and I like having the option of stepping away from my computer and not having to worry about taking my headphones off every time I get up.

I'd like to get a pair of these, but I live in an apartment complex and everyone uses 2.4 GHz routers. Is there a way to know in advance if there will be too much interference to use this headset?

No. And there 's no guarantee that if they work this month, that something won't mess with them next month.

These are by far the best investment I EVER MADE! Love them to death and I payed 120 for them. Anyone on the fence, don't be. These are one of the few headphones that work while charging as well, tack on a 3 year warranty and your set! I wear these headsets for at least 8-10 hours a day and they are super comfortable.

I have changed to 3 different routers in the span of me owning this headset, all of which have been 2.4GHz and one has been dual band. no issues what so ever. My adapter was also close to the router (less than 5 feet away from it).

If I can remember the names I think they were:
Linksys 54G
Linksys E1000
Linksys E3000

Now some Arris TG860 model (bundle with xfinity for Highspeed and phone service)

I'll chime in with another note about dropping sound. I have a D-Link DIR-655 wireless router. Sound drops for about 3-5 seconds every 15 minutes.

Oh cool, good to know for my own personal reference. Again, I listed the models just in case people were interested. Never owned a D-Link router so I can't speak for that model line

Great headset.

Pros: Sound quality, surround sound.

Cons: Occasional pops and clicks. Mic could be better, when recording audio in Camtasia, audio is low compared to my other headsets with mic.

I have 12-13 that usually show up in my apartment (besides my own). I had to get a 5ghz adapter for my laptop for any decent data rates/stable connection (obv paired w 5ghz router). The only time I have had issues with a connection with the g930 was when I was at the opposite side of my apartment and I was standing next to the microwave while it was running. Besides that I haven't had any issues

I got these for around $70 from Amazon during BF.

I returned them. I heard popping sounds while listening to music. Apparently several other folks have the same complaint. There is no easy workaround. So I returned them.

I'm looking at these for use with Skype at home ( I also live in an apartment complex and most of the channels have at least 2 routers on them). What I am wondering is, is there an alternative to these that I should be looking at? Wireless and a mic are essential, and it seems like these might be the best option for the money. Any thoughts?
