it's a wait and see approach right now, because I could see them offering to stream only to PS+ members, and or stream titles but you have to rebuy them (kind of like virtual console for old n64/snes/nes games which you may already own available on the wiiu/wii, except those transferred from both consoles)

I really don't see myself picking up a ps4 on launch unless the price is too low to pass up (meaning $299 or less).

I'll be getting another $10 off from Paypal for spending over $50, some email promo that i received earlier this month. Plus $4.60 in ebay bucks. Puts this at $215.39 for me. Seems like a sweet deal, been waiting to buy a PS3

agreed this BF deals will be had, but its February right now and I don't think this exact console will be less then $200. Saving ~$15 and waiting 9 months doesn't justify waiting for a potentially slicker deal

the lowest it ever got was $30 (after rebate) i think. (there was that gamestop pricing error listing it at $20 but i think all orders got canceled.)

$35 was relatively common and is a good price for the controller alone i think. i think you could get it when it falls down below $35 or when it is bundled with games or other stuff for around $35~$40.

as PS4 is coming, i'm sure we'll see better deals on PS3 games and gears.

The best deal on a new controller for PS3 were the recent 39.99 deals that came with a game. Best buy, Frys, and I'm sure other places had them. Here is an example:

You should set a slickdeal alert for like "dual shock" or ps3 controller" or something.

I predict a price drop to $200 in July and even better deals on BF. That close to holidays a lot of people will be holding out and saving for PS4 and we will also know details on the next Xbox.

I don't buy consoles at launch so I decided to get this now, and with PS+ I will have enough games to keep me busy. The trick is to get EU PS+ which is a lot better than the one in US for us.

Sometimes my alerts don't function the way they're supposed to, so I've just created an alert for PS3...and that kinda' includes everything-consoles,games and accessories.
