I have the smart TV, but was disappointed that you can't watch Hulu without paying extra for Hulu Plus. HBO Go works well though. NOTE, I'M TALKING ABOUT A DIFFERENT TV THAN THE OP.

Smart Tvs will be so out of date in 3-5 years. Better to upgrade add-on options instead. Its like buying a nav system for a car

its not its called edge lit led technology lol. a lot of edge lit led suffer from this. turning down the backlight may help or "massaging" the screen supposedly helps

I have a 7 year old car with GPS...and yes the newer ones are better...but I can use mine to get from point A to B if needed
but unless you are one to jump on new technology each year its a moot point

The fact that the TV is not a smart tv allows it to be much cheaper and that makes it a slick deal. If it were a smart TV then it would obviously be more expensive. Manufacturers don't add features for no additional price.

I have a decent HDTV but it's a few years old and sometimes at the homes of others I am like "damn thats a sharp picture" and think I need to upgrade my TV.

I currently have a Sharp LC-52SB57UN, would this be much of an upgrade from that? Why or why not?

This is a good price on a big TV. It is far from Samsung's best concerning picture quality. But for many (maybe even most?), the picture will be plenty good enough.

There will be a LOT of deals in the following weeks to clear out the 2012's as the 2013's are due in March and April.

It looks like there's only 2 HDMI and no VGA or DVI inputs. Are the lack of inputs common now with newer TV's? My 4 year old Sharp TV has 4 HDMI and a VGA input.
