Can you explain why it's better? It seems to be the exact same kit, but not magnetized.

In my experience, magnetized screwdrivers are really useful when screwing in components in cramped spaces or hard to reach areas. Also works well for picking up those screws you accidentally drop into small spaces.

I have this exact kit that I got from newegg many years ago. It is fairly cheap, but good for what I use it for; which is taking apart laptops to re solder power jacks or tighten hinges up, etc. I also use if for changing out circuit board in DLP TVs. I use it about 8 times a year. For $10, it is perfect. It includes a static draining strap also, which is always good to wear when working with circuit boards.

For tools I would rather drop extra money and get quality from the start. A good set of toools will last you YEARS. andbyears.

I have used these similar cheap craps before and they break easily. Cheap weak plastic. Metals that are brittle and no strenght.


I have a good set of pc tools I got back from 1996 and it is still in service today. And they can take a beating. Where other low cost junk snap and bent...

Say what you will about the quality of these tools, but they have saved me many times. This is a computer toolkit, not an auto mechanic kit. I'm not going to vigorously torque anything, so these aren't going to come apart in your hands. I keep these stashed all over the place for emergencies. If i lose or loan a screwdriver worth 50 cents, I don't really care because I have a half dozen more.

I was raised in a family of mechanics, so i fully respect and understand the importance of high quality tools. These are not high quality, but they will get your desktop rig taken apart.

Seriously, this set is a waste of money. The pieces break and bend easily. A friend of mine purchased me the Belkin set from Amazon for Christmas for $10 more and I have used it almost daily since. It's not just good for computer components and things of that nature. I have put furniture together with it. I love the fact that it clicks when you have tightened things enough or that you can turn the clicking off to tighten it even more. Also love the safety strap included. If you're bending/breaking the tools in this kit, you're not using it correctly. It's a COMPUTER tool kit, as in, low torque applications. I don't understand why there's so much hate for something like this, they're perfect for what they're designed for and for $10 who cares if it doesn't last a lifetime...

Bring up an interesting observation-

I purchased a couple items (not this one) but a flash diffuser from DX and a "molle storage bag" from fleabay.

The odor from them were identical, but really hard to describe - had to wash both a few times and set it out in the garage for almost a month b4 the smell was bearable.

I just wonder what chemical causes that odor?
