How hard is this one to set up? Would love to replace our 7X9 tent for camping, but that little one is so easy and fast to set up and take down!

If you have a bigger budget and are looking for a tent that will last decades, check them out. I have friends that have taken their canvas tents to the harsh environment of Burning Man for 10+ years and have never had an issue. I've taken mine the last two and love it.

This is a great tent. It was easy for the wife and I to setup quickly and it has held up to a season of camping so far without any visible wear.

Big tents with multiple rooms rock for camping in fair weather. Any inclement weather makes tent camping (canvas or not) risky if not frustrating for the uninitiated. From picking the spot to detailed setup, the littlest things make a big difference in bad weather. Sometimes you have to roll with bad weather punches when tent camping. Some people will never enjoy bad weather tent camping.

Around 2000, I picked up a clearance Wenger Appenzell (aka SwissGear Breezeway or differing combinations those names) made by Wenzel at Sams Club for under a hondo. Prior to losing track of it the tent had been the foundation of several week long camping trips to Ocracoke Island.

More than anything else, I recommend having separate rooms and lots of space if you'll be there for a while. I loved having the breezeway for central storage and the bedrooms off to the sides in the Appenzell. I believe the storage bag even had wheels. Can't believe I lost it. Be prepared to to McGyver in inclement weather (think tarp and adapt). The Appenzel had a tarp floor so never had to worry about that. I miss it.

I was looking into getting one of these Coleman tents (although a 6 person) until that sale came along. I'm just hoping the tent that I bought isn't garbage since I can't set it up until spring after the snow melts.

Those are really nice tents. They're also $500. I'm sure the quality shows that it's worth it, but anyone who is interested in this tent is absolutely not interested in spending $500 on one of the Kodaik ones. Conversely, anyone who is willing to spend $500 on one of those already knows why they wouldn't buy a $90 Coleman.

Bought this same tent in a deal last year.. Used it several times over the summer with the wife & 2 kids. It's really a great tent! Door is awesome, and it can be set up & taken down solo (if you have any experience setting up tents). An extra set of hands is helpful, but I usually do it myself.

We had a crazy rain storm last time camping.. The tent was literally in a 4 inch puddle all night. Bottom stayed bone dry.

Plenty of room for a queen air bed on each side with a ton of room in the middle for gear, changing etc.

Highly recommend this tent.

Yeah, I wish the hubby would let me get the Coleman but we're going for the Kodiak too. It's true if you have the coin the canvas is better. Kinda like getting a Dyson over a Hoover IMO.

I picked up one of these last year for about the same price. Excellent tent. Huge. Had 3 twin size inflatables and still had room. Takes about 10 min to setup and break down. Love the door framing. Great deal. Too bad we can't attach pics to our posts here... maybe I'll post some on the Amazon feedback page... Grab one if you are in the market for a nice size family tent.
