As a note, they sold units they hadn't received. Suspected arrival date being Friday the 15th. Not anticipating these shipping out this week at all.

The new menus will be on Roku 2 HD and up models in late April/Early May.
They took the external audio jack off the actual box which was great for separate external speakers and added it to the remote for headphones. Why couldn't they keep the one on the box AND add the one to the remote?
Just not enough improvement for me to ditch my 2 XS.
Are you talking about the RCA cable port on the Roku? Didn't even realize you could just use that as a headphone jack. It works though. I guess you'll have to have headphones that you can raise and lower the volume on though, otherwise you'll be stuck with the same volume. I guess the Roku 3 remote has volume buttons.
For those wondering, yes MKV is supported. Good news too as a lot of my stuff is in that format. I would assume AVIs work but it didn't mention it. Regardless, Plex is also an option. I've had good luck with that with my XS.
I'll probably upgrade though. The speed bump in the processor and the better wifi would make a big difference for me I think.
I wish they would add voice control to Roku. That would be awesome.

WDTV media player----i have one of the hub's and one of the player's and i love them both---the hub acts as a NAS for the whole network(if you need one for backups) and the standalone can play files from a network share or via usb connection.

all i wanted was 1080p & 5.1 from Netflix! the PS3 interface is a nice touch though...
Roku + Hulu Plus + Plex made cutting cable so easy
Also, pulling in HDTV signals OTA can be fairly easy too, depending on where you live and what type of dwelling you are in. We put a 7' antenna that cost like $50 in the attic, and we're able to pull in ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, Peachtree TV, ION, CW, and a few other things that we really don't watch. We're 30-35 miles from the towers with multiple reflections along the way.

So this can pick up a 5ghz band?
Jeeeeez - I just returned the dual band router I bought because I found out my Roku XS couldn't even pick up the 5ghz band.
Can anyone comment on whether or not this makes a difference? We don't really have issues with content streaming right now anyway w/ ~40mb internet...but I am curious because for HBO Go it always shows 3 out of 4 circles when determining quality (which I assume is based on the connection speed).
The 5ghz connection is still throttled to the speed of our internet connection, right?
Btw - nice deal. Saw this came out and totally want it...but I can't really make a good argument as to why I should upgrade.
Maybe give my XS to my parents?
