In case you missed it, Apple’s annual product showcase went live Tuesday, September 15th. Though we didn’t get any insight on the next iPhone, the Apple Event gave us a thorough taste of what’s in store for their flagship tech wearable. This year, the company is releasing two new Apple Watches, the function-packed Series 6 (starting at $399) and the more budget-friendly SE (starting at $279).

While there haven’t been any discounts on either new watch yet, you can shop different configurations of both models on Amazon

Regardless of whether you’re interested in the Apple Watch Series 6 or SE, orders start shipping out September 18th; an exciting 72-hour turnaround from first announcement to release.

What’s New with the Apple Watch Series 6

Cosmetically, there isn’t much change to the newest generation of the smartwatch. Instead, the Apple Watch Series 6 is all about internal improvements to help you stay fit and healthy. Here are the key upgrades of the gadget’s latest iteration.

  • New S6 processor, 20% faster than the Series 5
  • Always-On Display now 2.5 times brighter outdoors
  • Blood oxygen sensor
  • Always-on altimeter for live elevation updates
  • Several new watch faces to choose from
  • New case colors including Aluminum Blue and Red
  • Introduction of the Solo Loop Watch Band

How is the SE different from the Series 6?

As for the Apple Watch SE, you will still get a device full of fitness functionality. It’s just missing some of the premium features of the Series 6 like an Always-On Display, ECG, and blood oxygen sensor. Usually the SE moniker entails a shrinkage in size, but that isn’t the case. You can get the device in the same display sizes as the Series 6. The better comparison here is that the Apple Watch SE is just a re-packaged Series 3 with overall improvements in performance, a slightly larger screen and better compatibility with the latest Watch OS7 features.

The Apple Event also gave us two new services to support the latest Apple Watches. Continuing its dedication to health and exercise, Apple introduced Fitness+. This is a subscription-based service that offers weekly workout content by the world’s top trainers.

The platform offers a number of popular exercise activities with varying levels of difficulties. And it can be viewed on any screen from your smartphone to your tablet to your TV. Working alongside the Workout app on your Apple Watch, a widget will appear on your screen to give you live details about your exercise like time, distance, heart rate and calories burned.

Fitness+ will be available before the end of the year. You can subscribe for $9.99 a month or opt for a year at $79.99 to save some money. New buyers of Apple Watch Series 3 or later will also get 3-months of Fitness+ for free.

Along with the introduction of Fitness+, the company also unveiled an all-encompassing subscription called Apple One, which will drop sometime this fall. Membership comes in three tiers and covers all the services Apple has to offer. These are the prices, savings and content for each tier:

Where to Find the Best Deals on the New Watches

Since the unveiling of these two devices is so recent, there aren’t any deals as of yet. You can pre-order either device from Apple’s website and get the watches as early as September 18th.

As mentioned before, the Apple Watch Series 6 starts at $399. Opting for the GPS + Cellular model is just $100 more at $499. And the Apple Watch SE starts at $279 with the GPS + Cellular running for $329. You can customize each watch thoroughly prior to purchase. With so many case and band designs, there is sure to be one to fit your style.

If you happen to be an Apple Card holder, you also have the option of 0% financing for 24 months when you use it to purchase. This offer also stacks with the card’s built-in 3% daily cash back so you can save a little money on your new Apple Watch.
