PlayStation 5 owners will finally be able to customize their next-gen system in 2022.  Sony has officially revealed a lineup of console covers arriving in January. To coincide with the first batch of Sony-branded PS5 console covers, you’ll also be able to get your hands on three new DualSense controllers next year.

PS5 console covers will be available in five different flavors. Choose from Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red designs are now available for pre-order through PlayStation Direct, and Sony expects to see the Nova Pink, Galactic Purple and Starlight Blue covers available within the first half of 2022. Outside of PlayStation Direct, you can expect to see the PS5 console covers available at participating retailers (which vary by region).

According to Sony, installing the console covers is an easy process. All you’ll need to do is remove the original white PS5 shell (which can be done without any specialty tools) and then simply snap the new cover into place. Just make sure you purchase the right type of cover for your console – that is, either PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition – as the two models feature slightly different designs and are not cross-compatible.

Three New DualSense Controllers Coincide With PS5 Console Covers Release

Sony has already released Midnight Black and Cosmic Red DualSense Controllers, but starting January 2022 you’ll also be able to find Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple. Specific release dates vary by region – although pre-orders are now live on PlayStation Direct.

Select retailers outside PlayStation Direct will also carry these new DualSense Controllers in February 2022.
