One of the biggest events in the gaming industry, E3, is going on right now from 6/12 to 6/15. Circumstances from the past year have made 2021’s gathering completely virtual, but this can be considered a blessing. Fans all around the world have the ability to livestream the latest news and innovations from the most well-known names on the block right from the comfort of their own homes.
Within the sea of announcements, Razer is making a splash this year with the unveiling of some new and updated products: the revamped Blade 14 laptop, the upgraded Raptor 27 monitor, and the company’s first GaN (Gallium Nitride) charger.
Razer Blade 14: Back on the Cutting Edge
After a three-year break, the Blade 14 is making headlines again with an impressive internal makeover. For the first time since its introduction in 2013, the device will host an AMD CPU. Razer has chosen the formidable 8-core Ryzen 9 5900HX for the job, making it one of the fastest gaming laptops in its class. And to ensure the ultimate gaming experience, you can opt for a powerful NVIDIA GPU up to the GeForce RTX 3080.
For the screen, there are two options to choose from. The top-tier choice is an immersive Quad HD (2560 x 1440) 165Hz display that sits big on the compact 14” chassis thanks to extremely thin bezels. With these screen specs and AMD FreeSync Premium technology, gaming will be virtually devoid of screen-tear or graphics lag.
Since this is a product from the leading lifestyle brand for gamers, you can bet that it has all those fancy aesthetics we love, like per-key Razer Chroma RGB backlighting, THX Spatial Audio, and loads of ports for your peripherals.

Razer Raptor 27: The World’s First THX Certified PC Monitor
Though gaming monitors are a newer endeavor for Razer, their experience in the field has helped the Raptor 27 find a place in many a gamer’s ecosystem. For this year’s E3 keynote, they announced a new version of the monitor with even more impressive specs to meet the PC gaming demands of today.
The device features a wide-angle IPS display at 2560 x 1440 resolution and an increased refresh rate of 165Hz. It also supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync technology to offer the fluid gameplay you expect from a premium gaming monitor. To do justice to your games, the 95% DCI-P3 wide color gamut and HDR400 work together to deliver the visual fidelity that the developers intended. And after hundreds of tests, the Razer 27 also debuts with the first THX certification ever granted to a PC monitor.
Cosmetically, the Raptor 27 retains the same design of its predecessor (the 90-degree tilt too). However, Razer is also releasing a VESA adapter for the monitor, so you can make all your multi-screen or mounting setups come true. It will be sold separately and will work with any Raptor model.
The new Raptor 27 will be available in early Q3 of this year for $799, and the VESA Mount Adapter will be available for $99.99.
New Razer Raptor 27 Specs:
- 27” IPS Display
- QHD Resolution (2560 x 1440)
- 165Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms Response Time

Razer USB-C GaN Charger: A New Way to Power Up
The third part of Razer’s keynote announcement trifecta is their new GaN charger. This isn’t your everyday run-of-the-mill charging brick though. The GaN stands for Gallium Nitride, which is a powerful semiconductor with many advantages over silicon-based chargers. These benefits include higher voltages, faster charging speeds, less heat, and a smaller form factor.
The device offers a total of four charging ports: 2 USB-C and 2 USB-A. Despite its petite size, it can fast-charge a variety of devices from smartphones to laptops. To give you extra peace of mind, the GaN charger also hosts a variety of thermal and electrical safeguards to protect your home and devices.
Designed with the avid traveler in mind, the package also includes global adapter power plugs for use in most parts of Europe and Asia. The Razer USB-C GaN Charger will be priced at $179.99 and available for pre-order.
Razer USB-C 130W GaN Specs:
