December is already here and the gifting season is officially in full swing! One of the most popular kinds of presents to give during the holidays is a gaming console. But this category of products is extremely competitive during November and December, and this year will be no different.
Due to the global chip shortage, highly sought-after systems like the Nintendo Switch OLED and PS5 remain in short supply. If you’re adamant about getting one of these consoles for a friend or loved one this holiday, then you might have to go the extra mile, or in this case, the extra dollar.
To make sure you check those items off your wishlist, you can give StockX a try.

A New Marketplace for the World’s Rarest Items

StockX started as a central hub for reselling scarce fashion items like clothing, watches, sneakers, and more. Headquartered in Detroit, this fast-growing startup began expanding its product categories to gaming consoles, smartphones, and computer hardware just last year.
The company positions itself as “The Current Culture Marketplace.” What does this actually mean? Similar to the stock exchange where there is only one ticker for a company, StockX only has one page per product. So you don’t have to spend hours and hours browsing listings to find what you want.
Each page features info on past sales, bid/ask history, historical price data, and related products. Everything you need to make an informed decision on your purchase is right there in one place.

This Holiday Season’s Must-Have Gaming Consoles and Accessories

If you want to increase your odds of landing a console this holiday season, prepare to go with first available as opposed to waiting for the best deal.
Do you pay a little more now for the guarantee of having the item? Or do you take a risk hoping someone locally will sell their unit for some extra holiday cash? Taking a gamble and holding out for a console deal this year could leave you empty-handed under the Christmas tree.
To help you trim a little off the top, Slickdeals Rewards is offering 3% cash back on electronics and 1% cash back on everything else from 12/15 to 12/17 for purchases made on StockX.

How Buying Works on StockX

There are two ways in which you can purchase a product on the platform: buying and bidding. If you’re okay with the lowest Ask Price, you can use the Buy Now feature to take that item off the market. Otherwise, you can try your luck by placing a bid at a price that you are comfortable with.
While your bid is active, StockX will give you immediate updates on any price action that happens on your product. Bids can always be either renewed or let go when they’re about to expire.
The platform will always notify you ahead of time in case you get cold feet. Once you actually solidify a purchase, the item will be shipped from the seller to StockX for authentication before arriving at your door.

Authenticity Guaranteed

Anything sold on StockX must be “Deadstock,” otherwise known as a new and unworn product. Since the website is all about resales, they take authenticity very seriously. Each product sold must be sent to its authentication centers to undergo a rigorous verification process.
On arrival, StockX’s global team of expert authenticators examines the condition, construction, packaging, and accessories of the product to make sure everything is the real deal.
Once everything checks out, your item will be on its way, ready for you to either wrap and keep a secret for someone special or enjoy for yourself on arrival.
