When most people think of Black Friday, they picture standing in line for hours to get a new-ish TV. But it’s a little-known fact that some of the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are going on at your favorite travel sites. You can find incredible deals on your next adventure while lounging on the couch. The post-Thanksgiving period is the best time to find large discounts on last-minute winter travel, as well as great deals on early spring trips and cruises.

We’ve rounded up the best Black Friday travel deals for 2019, so you can have your passports ready for new experiences.

Save Up to 75% on Hotels

Download the Expedia app early for your chance to grab app-exclusive coupons, like $100 off select flights and 75% off select hotels for destinations like Miami, Punta Cana, Cancun, Phuket, Siem Reap, Seoul, Los Cabos, Mexico City, Manila, Phoenix, New York City and more.

Coupons will appear on the app on November 29th at 9 a.m. PT. You can also catch some early bird deals starting November 25th. Travel to your destination must be done by March 31st, 2020.

You can also try booking your hotel directly through the hotel chain or resort after Thanksgiving to see if they offer a special rate. For example, Marigot Bay Resort in the Caribbean has its rooms for 40% off on select winter and spring dates.

Other hotel deals include:

  • Save up to 40% off at Booking.com
  • Travelocity will have flight and hotel bookings for as low as $400
  • Save an additional 22% on Orbitz Cyber Week deals with code CYBERSAVE22, and 18% with code MONDAY18. Both codes are valid on November 27th only.

Save Hundreds of Dollars on Black Friday Flights

Alaska Airlines launches its deals on November 29th. Last year during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the airline offered one-way economy fare trips starting at $39 on select destinations.

Saver deal fares started at $54 for one-way flights. To find the best Black Friday flights through Alaska Airlines sale, search travel for Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Additionally, note that most travel deals will be for select dates in January and February.

More Black Friday flights to keep your eye on include:

  • JetBlue: Past deals have included $150 off vacation packages
  • Earn up to 100,000 bonus miles with American Airlines
  • Delta Airlines will have discounted tickets to more than 300 destinations
  • Aeromexico offered cheap flights from the U.S. to Mexico last year during Black Friday for as low as $279.
  • Aer Lingus is set to offer a huge discount on flights to Ireland with travel dates before March 31st, 2020
  • Expect one-way flights starting at $49 with Southwest

Save Up to 60% on Cruises

If a cruise is your preferred method of travel, Royal Caribbean will not disappoint this year with Black Friday and Cyber Monday travel deals. To see the most savings, plan to travel with a guest or your family.

In the past, the cruise line has offered up to 60% off second guests, and up to a $300 onboard credit per stateroom. You can also expect select offers for kids to sail free.

Other cruise lines will also offer discounted cruises. Here are some deals to expect:

  • Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL): NCL is offering some of the best cruise perks this year with free open bar, free shore excursions, free specialty dining, free Wi-Fi and kids sail free on select cruises. These deals only require $50 down.
  • Carnival: On top of discounted prices, Carnival offered $50 deposits and $50 in onboard credit per person last year during Black Friday.
  • Princess Cruises: Travelers were able to put only $1 down for all Cyber Event deals last year.
  • Celestyal Cruises: The buy one, get one free sale starts November 28th for many 2020 and 2021 destinations. Passengers must stay in the same room for this discounted rate.

More Ways to Save on Black Friday Travel Deals

If you want to experience the lowest-priced vacations during this sale, then you need to keep your plans flexible. If you go into Black Friday with your heart set on Paris, you might find a deal to travel there for 25% less than usual, but you could also miss an opportunity to visit Japan for 75% off.

And remember that common-sense rules of travel still apply for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Weekend trips and flights are still going to cost more than starting and ending your vacation on a Tuesday or Wednesday, for instance.

Set a Deal Alert for your favorite airlines and travel booking sites to get Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal updates as soon as they happen. And check our travel deal forums often for updated deals and discount codes once Black Friday gets closer.
