work for you?
With competitors like T-mobile offering complimentary Netflix subscriptions, Verizon is stepping up its benefits game. After a trial run offering 6-month, uh, trials, Verizon is now including Apple Music for free and indefinitely to those enrolled in the Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited service plans.
So what's the overall value of this package? And how much do you actually wind up saving? Let's find out.
Select Verizon Unlimited Plans Now Include Free Apple Music
Starting January 17th, Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited customers will receive free Apple Music as part of their contracts. Meanwhile, customers enrolled in the Go Unlimited plan will still get six months of Apple Music free when they sign up. The rate will increase to $9.99 per month thereafter for Go Unlimited users, although you can cancel at any time.
Verizon's Unlimited plans range from $40-$60 per line, and you can mix and match them to suit your family's needs.
How Much Can You Save with a Verizon Apple Music Plan?
Considering that Apple Music currently costs $9.99 per month, Verizon's Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited customers are looking at $120 in annual savings. Those enrolled in the Go Unlimited plan can still save $60 by getting the first six months free (and you can cancel at any time). Keep in mind that taxes apply to these advertised rates.
How to Activate Your Free Apple Music with Verizon
According to Verizon, customers who already subscribe to Apple Music will be directed to cancel their current subscription when they sign in to Verizon with their Apple IDs. You can also cancel your subscription through Apple Music via Settings.
Activating Apple Music subscriptions on multiple lines? Just go to "Add-ons" in the My Verizon app under "Account," select the lines you want to enroll in Apple Music, then accept the Terms and Conditions. Each line will receive a text message with a link to download or open the Apple Music app.
You'll have to remain on a qualified Unlimited plan to retain your free Apple Music offer. If you switch to a non-qualifying plan after activating Apple Music, you'll be billed $9.99 per month for your subscription unless you opt out. You can manage or cancel your subscription through vzw.com/applemusic or via the "Add-ons" section of the My Verizon app under "Account."
