Black Friday — well, November, really — is by far one of the best times of the year to save a ton of money on TVs, laptops and pretty much anything that has electricity running through it. I always look forward to upgrading or replacing my tech accessories around the holidays, and love gifting deeply-discounted smart home devices to friends and family so I can introduce them to the convenience of a voice-activated house. Here are my favorite deals so far this month:

  • VAVA 4K Ultra Short-throw ProjectorSale Price: $1,959.99 | Reg. Price: $2,799.99 (Available 11/28)
    • Cast a 100-inch image from just 7.2 inches away; features a built-in Harmon Kardon sound bar. Every time I’ve seen this projector go on sale, it sells out very quickly.
  • VAVA Dual Dash CamSale Price: $114.74 | Reg. Price: $149.99 (Available now)
    • This dash cam features full HD front and rear cameras, and includes WiFi capabilities for easy transferring of video files. The front camera also swivels 360-degrees, so you can easily turn it into a cabin camera when needed. YMMV: Amazon is offering an additional $10 discount when you clip the coupon on the product page, bringing the final price down to $104.74.
  • Alienware m15 R3 Gaming LaptopSale Price: $1,199.99 | Reg. Price: $1,549.99 (sold out)
    • Alienware is another brand that combines premium quality with value. The newest m15 gaming laptop offers everything you’d need to play today’s most demanding videogames. Highlights include a 144Hz screen, Intel i7 processor, AMD Radeon RX5500M graphics card and 16GB of RAM. Check out our hands-on review here.
  • iBuyPower Gaming DesktopSale Price: $899.99 | Reg. Price $1,099.99 (Available now)
    • Just short of a monitor, this desktop bundle includes a keyboard and mouse, and is ready to play the latest games right out of the box. Specs include an Intel i7 processor, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti, and 480GB SSD + 1TB HDD.
  • Razer All-Star Gaming BundleSale Price: $149.99 | Available now for Costco members
    • This is quite literally everything you need for a legit gaming PC setup — an esports-ready BlackShark headset, a hybrid clicky keyboard, one of the most popular ambidextrous gaming mice and a giant mat to lay everything on. If you were to buy each item separately, the total cost would be $269.96, which means the bundle offers a saving of nearly $120.
  • eufy RoboVac 25C Wi-Fi Connected Robot VacuumSale Price: $129.00 | Reg. Price: $249.99 (Available now)
    • Nothing’s better than having your home clean itself, but most robo-vacuums usually cost hundreds of dollars. That’s why this Eufy RoboVac is so attractive at $129. It’s also Wi-Fi-enabled so you can use Google Assistant or Alexa to control it or set routines.

This Black Friday, I have my eye on headphones deals. From Apple to Sony to Bose, the current generation of premium headphones isn’t markedly different from the last — especially when it comes to sound quality. This means you have plenty of chances to pick up a fantastic set of headphones for a fraction of the original price. Here are a few early contenders that I think will serve you well for years to come:

  • Apple AirPods with Charging Case (Wired) Sale Price: $109.99 | Reg. Price: $159.00 (price dropped on Black Friday!)
    • If you already know you want AirPods, this is one of the best prices currently available. However, we did see them drop down to $99 earlier in November, so you may want to keep checking back or set a Deal Alert to get the absolute best price. This is $20 cheaper than the deal price we saw earlier in November.
  • Beats Solo Pro Wireless Headphones – Sale Price: $169.99 | Reg. Price: $299.95 (price dropped on Black Friday!)
    • Black, white and gray headphones are so overrated. You can save $130 off MSRP by opting for a more unique color. Take the road less traveled!
  • Sony WH-1000XM3 Noise Cancelling Wireless HeadphonesSale Price: $233.99 | Reg. Price: $349.99
    • Sony’s WH-1000XM3 headphones weigh 0.04 ounces more than the newer WH-1000XM4s, but that’s pretty much where the differences stop. I bought these headphones earlier in 2020, and feel fully satisfied with my purchase.
  • Sennheiser HD 458BT Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones (Black/Red) – Sale Price: $99.98 | Reg Price: $199.98
    • While I mostly listen to electronic music, I keep a pair of Sennheiser headphones around for when I’m in the mood for something more acoustic. This is also the lowest recent price we’ve seen for the HD 458BTs.

By the time November rolls around, I’ve pretty much figured out what I really need versus what I want, along with the exact price I want to pay. This year, I am thrilled that I can shop Black Friday for an entire month since so many great sales have already started. Here are a few things that I’ve already snapped up or that I’m looking to grab soon:

  • LINEA PAOLO Trinity Combat Boots (in black) – Sale Price: $$47.98 | Reg. Price: $159.95 (price dropped on Black Friday!)
    • I always try to pick a cool pair of boots for winter that I can also wear to walk my dog. Not only are these LINEA PAOLO boots from Nordstrom 60% off, they also have a zipper for easy on and off, and they’re nearly identical to these leather ALLSAINTS boots that retail for $397.
  • Shark Navigator Upright Vacuum with Self-Cleaning BrushrollSale Price: $98 | Reg. Price: $199
    • I never knew how easy cleaning could be until I got a Shark vacuum five years ago — it changed my attitude towards cleaning. I am snapping up this new Shark since it features a self-cleaning brushroll, perfect for my long hair and pet hair. I plan to give my friend my old Shark since it still works great!
  • Hotel Collection Bedding from Macy’sOver 50% off with additional bonus offers
    • I love hotel-quality bedding and have tried many brands but keep coming back to Macy’s Hotel Collection line. This year I will pick a new (Full/Queen) comforter that also features a 100% cotton shell.
  • Created a Deal Alert for Black Friday deals on smart locks
    • I don’t like carrying keys when I run, so I’m looking for a great deal on a smart lock for my front door. Since it’s more of a convenience than a necessity, I set a Deal Alert to get notified on my phone whenever there’s an exceptionally low price. If a deal makes the Slickdeals Frontpage, I’ll know it’s the best price on the internet and can jump on it.

When I’m not reviewing the fine print of credit card and bank account offers, I’m busy remodeling my home near Littleton, Colorado. I’ve visited every Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace Hardware and sporting goods store within a 20-mile radius, and I love stacking rewards program savings and credit card offers on top of sale prices to save even more money. If you’re spending more than $1,000 a year on home improvement and home furnishing purchases, I highly recommend the Bank of America Cash Rewards credit card. And if you need some new tools to get the job done, here are a few Black Friday sales worth checking out:

  • Rigid 7-Inch Table Top Tile SawSale Price: $99 | Reg. Price: $219
    • It’s typically cheaper to rent a tile saw than to buy one, but $99 is less than you’ll pay for a weekend rental at Home Depot.
  • Milwaukee 20-Piece Multi-Tool Blade SetSale Price: $29.98 | Reg. Price: $79.99
    • Blades and attachments for oscillating tools are so expensive, and they burn out and dull super quickly. You’ll most likely pay $30 for a grout cutter alone, but this deal gives you 19 additional blades. It’s a no-brainer!
  • Milwaukee 5-Power Tool ComboSale Price: $299 | Reg. Price: $599
    • Calling a flashlight a power tool feels like cheating. Regardless, getting a Milwaukee brand circular saw, palm sander, power drill, power driver, two batteries and a charger for under $300 is a deal. No question.
  • Salomon Men’s Supercross Trail Running ShoesSale Price: Starting at $39.99 | Reg. Price: $109.99
    • If you’re a gym rat who hasn’t returned to the rec center since COVID-19 shut everything down, then you’re probably running like a crazed endurance athlete. Salomon Supercross trail shoes are the closest things to 4-wheel drive for your sore, blistering feet. They’re worth every cent at full price, but if you do some Googling for your specific size, you can potentially save a lot more—I found this deal on a size 13 pair for $39.99.
  • Gold’s Gym Exercise Body BallSale Price: $9.73 | Reg. Price: $14.99
    • No attempt at building your own home gym is complete without a body ball rolling from one corner to the next, seemingly by itself. (Seriously, how does it do that?) Stretch out your back or do a host of abdominal crunches with one confoundingly large piece of gym equipment from the 1970s.

When I’m not updating articles or editing images, I am usually in the kitchen making my famous homemade smoothie bowls or photographing the outdoors with one of my many cameras. For the first time ever, I’m actually on top of my holiday shopping (thanks Slickdeals!). I’ve noticed some great deals on kitchen appliances, cameras and accessories this month. Here are a few deals I am most excited about (and a few I’ve already purchased).

  • Ninja BL770 Blender & Food Processor, Mega Kitchen SystemSale Price: $199 | Reg. Price: $249 (sold out)
    • This is the best blender I’ve ever used. I once made seven açai smoothie bowls at a party in no time at all. You’ll love all the accessories, and it can handle a lot, especially if you like your smoothies thick. It’s also super easy to clean.
  • Bella 13330 Rocket Blender 12 Piece Set Sale Price: $7.99 | Reg. Price: $44.99 (price dropped on Black Friday!)
    • If you just want a smoothie, this blender is for you. Though it’s less powerful than the Ninja BL770, this blender is great for quick, easy blends with minimal clean-up. And at such a low price, you can’t really go wrong. Don’t forget to send in the mail-in rebate to get the deal price!
  • Canon – EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Video Two Lens Kit with EF-S 18-55mm and EF 75-300mm LensesSale Price: $499 | Reg. Price: $599
    • This is the perfect DSLR camera for any photographer just starting out. You’ll have tons of fun playing around with the 75-300mm zoom lens.
  • Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s Lavender Bundle (includes Camera, Case, Film, Photo Album & Photo Holders)Sale Price: $49.00| Reg. Price: $69
    • When I bring my Fujifilm instant camera to any gathering, it’s always a big hit. People love it when I take a photo and then immediately hand them a printed copy right from the camera. For $45.50, it’s a great gift and the color is adorable.
  • Sunpak 12″ Bicolor LED Ring Light KitSale Price: $49.99 | Reg. Price: $69.99 (Available Nov. 22 at Best Buy)
    • In the age of Tik Tok and Zoom, Ring Lights are a must-have. Place one of these behind your computer and use the built-in tripod for a flawless, professional look on-screen. They work great for portrait photography, too.

Generally speaking, I tend to avoid the flashy deals on Black Friday. Instead, I prefer to stick with low-key staple items that I know I’m going to use and can get a solid deal on right now. Here are a few examples that I’m planning on picking up at Walmart’s Deals for Days event starting on November 11th:

  • Biopure Phone Sanitizer (100pk Wipes)Sale Price: $5 | Reg. Price: $10-$12 (sold out)
    • Typically, you’ll pay around $6 per pack of 50 phone wipes on sites like Amazon. With the pandemic still a major factor, I’ll probably pick up multiple quantities of these.
  • PUMA Men’s Crew Socks, 6-PackSale Price: $10 | Reg. Price: $14
    • Look, make fun of me all you want, but nothing gets me more excited as an adult than reasonably priced socks. Since running is one of the few chances I get to spend time outdoors anymore, I find myself going through socks more frequently, so I’m always ready to jump on a good sock deal.
  • Mainstays 70 Piece Meal Prep SetSale Price: $7 | Reg. Price: $25
    • I spend some of my volunteer time doing outreach to our unhoused neighbors, and this is an outright steal. I’m going to pick up as many as I can and suggest that my friends do the same.

Stay up to date on all the best Black Friday deals here and check back frequently so you don’t miss a great discount. Additionally, set a Deal Alert for the items on your wish list and we’ll let you know as soon as a new offer is posted.
