The Future is 4K: Here are The Best Television Deals of the Week

The best TV deals of the week, according to the Slickdeals community.

At Slickdeals, we work hard to help you find the best deals. To do this, some of the products featured here are from our partners, who may provide us with compensation. However, this doesn’t influence our opinions. Our views are our own.

The dawn of a new decade holds plenty of different meanings. It is a time for beginnings; for redefining what we know about ourselves and the world we live in. And for the media-inclined, it’s a time to wonder what shows and games are going to define this new era.

Well wonder no more, because we have the technology to see for ourselves. Now that it’s the future, you get to watch a new world born in 4K high definition with lightning-fast refresh rate. Sadly, though, we can’t make the return of your favorite series come any faster.

Top TV Deals of the Week

There are always plenty of good TV deals on our site, and these are some of our favorites from the past week:

LG 8 Series 75″ Dolby Vision

On Sale for: $899.99 | Reg. Price: $1,996 at Costco

  • TruMotion 240
  • Dolby Atmos Audio
  • Second-year warranty included
  • Compatible with LG ThinQ AI, Google Assistant and Alexa

This price is only good until January 26th, and non-Costco-members have to pay the 5% surcharge for online orders. Other than that, this price is more than 50% off the next best deal we’ve seen. Compared to similar models at other stores, JeenS noted the Costco version is still nearly $110 cheaper than the competition.

Samsung 50″ Class LED NU6900 Series 2160p Smart 4K TV with HDR

On Sale for: $296.99 | Reg. Price: $329.99 at Best Buy

  • Variety of display modes: PurColor, essential contrast and game mode
  • Clean cable solution cord organizer for ease of use
  • Smart TV functionality through the Samsung remote

While some might balk at the idea of an “entry level” 4K HD TV, others among us are not quite ready to spend a year’s worth of rent on a home entertainment system. If this sounds like you, this serviceable budget TV from a respected brand costs less than $300.  Even compared to the more recent version, the specs aren’t that much different. And this one still costs $50 less, according to stingray2772. If you have expensive taste and exacting standards for your 4K TV, this might not be the deal for you, but otherwise it seems well made and affordable.

85″ Class Q70R QLED Smart 4K UHD TV (2019 Model)

On Sale for:  $3,799.99 | Reg. Price: $4,799.99 at Samsung

  • Direct Full Array backlighting for black and white enhancement
  • Ambient mode
  • Quantum Dot color volume
  • Intelligent Mode screen adaptation

If the aforementioned “expensive taste and exacting standards” description resonates with you, check out the 85″ Class Q70R from Samsung. While we did see a slightly better deal for this TV a few days ago, $1,000 off isn’t exactly chump change, especially considering this set’s monstrous size.

Foyzur suggests you make sure your room isn’t too bright and sunny before buying this TV, as the anti-reflective screen isn’t the best. The newer model doesn’t seem to have this problem, but a little glare is a small price to pay for a $1,000 discount.

VIZIO 55″ Class M-Series Quantum 4K Ultra HD (2160p) HDR Smart TV

Sale Price: $378 | Reg. Price: $498 at Walmart

  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Comes with VIZIO WatchFree™, over 150 channels of news, sports, movies and TV for free
  • 10 local dimming zones for optimal backlighting

A common complaint about smart TVs is the slow but inevitable creep of ads taking up your entire screen and TV experience. According to padawandeal_learner, there is a way around this when using a Vizio TV.

Sets from this manufacturer will automatically power up to whichever input you were last using, helping you avoid having to slog through a million menus and ads to get to the thing you really want. This is a relatively affordable QLED TV, and it is only available online. It’s been on sale at this price for a while.

TCL 75R617 75-Inch 4K Ultra HD Roku Smart LED TV (2019 Model)

On Sale for: $1,399.99 | Reg. Price: $2,299.99 at Amazon

  • Three HDMI and one USB ports
  • 120hz refresh rate
  • Ethernet and wireless capabilities
  • HDR10

At a whopping $900 off, this hefty Roku TV is a killer deal. With Dolby Vision and Till’s Contrast Control Zone, the image is crisp and blacks and whites are well defined. This model is noted for its relative lack of obnoxious inputs or menus, allowing you to get right down to business.

RCA 65″ Class 4K Ultra HD (2160P) HDR Roku Smart LED TV

On Sale for: $429.99 | Reg. Price: $749.99 at Walmart

  • Private streaming onto your personal device using Roku
  • Cast to TV with smartphone or tablet
  • 60Hz refresh rate

Reviewers have commended this TV for its thin physique and ease of setup without drowning in a tangle of wires. Conversely, it tends to suffer from glare when placed in a bright area — a small price to pay for a big-budget 4K TV? Other than that, you can expect access to all of the usual Roku apps, channels and other key functions.

Tips for Getting the Best TV Deals

Compare the specs of your desired TV model to previous iterations. This week’s tip for getting the best TV deal might mean doing a little more research, but it will potentially save you a decent amount of money. Several of the TVs on this list are technically older versions of premiere new releases, but Slickdealers agreed their capabilities were a better value for the reduced price, and in some cases the two TVs are virtually identical.
