If you’re looking for a new e-reader, both Amazon and Best Buy are offering solid deals on the latest Kindle Paperwhite for a limited time.

The retailers are knocking $40 off the listed price for the 8GB and 32GB versions, bringing them down to $89.99 and $119.99 respectively. Best Buy is also offering one of two free gifts with purchase via Shutterfly: $25 to spend or an 8×8 Photo Book.

Both Amazon and Best Buy are offering free shipping. Best Buy will also let you order online and pick up in-store, but this only where stock permits.

How to Save More on the Kindle Paperwhite

$40 off is solid, but this wouldn’t be Slickdeals if we didn’t offer some extra chances to save.

For those with a Prime Card, you can get 20% back on your purchase when you buy the Kindle via Amazon. This offer is only available through June 30th. You can also save even more if you trade-in an older, eligible Kindle device at the time of purchase. Look on the Amazon product page for more details.

If you have a Discover card, you get 25% off your purchase of select Amazon devices, including the new Kindle Paperwhite. This deal is exclusive to the 8GB version and is only available through June 21st, and you must pay using cashback for at least a portion of the cost. You can read the full terms and conditions here.

For better savings from Best Buy, Slickdealer StewbeZ recommends making a Google Express account. First-time purchases with Google Express are 20% off when you use the code MAYSAVE19. Max savings are capped at $20, and the offer ends June 2nd.

Is the New Kindle Paperwhite Worth the Money?

The latest iteration of the Kindle Paperwhite boasts greater storage capacity, increased battery life and a new waterproof design. It currently has a 4.2-star rating on Amazon. Slickdealer richman provided an in-depth review of the device on the original post, and they give some great tips on how to get the most from this Kindle.

The biggest benefit according to them is the insane battery life, which can last over a month if you keep the device in airplane mode. One big drawback, however, is the glossy screen.

While Amazon claims that the display is “glare-free,” users have reported that this is not the case. Slickdealer StewbeZ claims the glare is worse than it was on the previous iteration, so take that into consideration when making your decision.
