Delta Unveils the Comfort Plus Upgrade Everyone Has Been Asking For

Passive aggressive arm rest struggles are so coach class.

At Slickdeals, we work hard to help you find the best deals. To do this, some of the products featured here are from our partners, who may provide us with compensation. However, this doesn’t influence our opinions. Our views are our own.

Those halcyon few among us who have reached Medallion status in the Delta SkyMiles program have known the limitations of luxury. Sure, everyone loves being a member when it comes to Lyft and Airbnb rewards, as well as access to the Sky Club and Premium Boarding, but it can feel like a curse when you elect to upgrade your cushy window seat in the front of coach for the universally dreaded Comfort+ middle seat.

A slightly wider and more comfortable seat isn’t going to magically generate any more armrests, Delta. This egregious downgrade is additional salt in the wound on top of the recent price increase on the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card.

Fortunately, those were the before times. The price increase came with the promise of new features and improvements, and it sounds like Delta is delivering.

Now, you’re prompted to select your preferred seat on a flight-by-flight basis during the upgrade process, so you don’t have to commit. If your preferred seat is not available in the Comfort+ class, you can withdraw the request and remain in your original seat. Some members have already tried this new feature during its testing period, and it was clearly well-received.

Now that you know you can upgrade in comfort and confidence, why not plan a trip? January and February are often the cheapest months to fly, and those looking to try out their new and improved upgrade right away can even plan their holiday travels with luxury in mind.
