There’s No Risk and Plenty of Reward in Trying Groupon’s Student Program

Why not take up to 25% off local deals before you graduate?

The Groupon Student program offers an extra 15 to 25% off already discounted local deals. Students can take a much-needed break while enjoying a nearby restaurant, burning off that freshman fifteen in a spin class or just hanging with friends at a concert.

It’s free to join, but you need to verify your student status using SheerID, rather than just having an email address ending in edu.

You can sign up below, and SheerID will check your enrollment status instantly. If SheerID can’t verify your enrollment, you can upload a school transcript or a currently valid school ID card.

Sign up for Groupon Student

Already have a Groupon account? You can convert it to a student account (as long as SheerID is able to verify your enrollment).

The Groupon Student program is open to all US residents and will remain active one full year from its start date. Take advantage of the first six months when you can get 25% off eligible local deals like mani-pedis, gifts for mom and dad and custom frames to help decorate your dorm room.

After six months, sadly, the extra 25% turns into 15% for the remainder of your participation in the program.

As with all deals, read the fine print. Only eligible offers qualify, and there is a max discount of $20 per use. So, you can’t get the full value of 25% off one of Groupon’s $1,000 vacation packages.

There’s only one local deal allowed per transaction, which cannot be combined with any other promo code or offer. However, discounts are automatically applied at checkout, so there are no pesky promo codes to memorize.

And don’t forget to set a Deal Alert to be notified of the latest Groupon deals!
