The first regular-season NFL game is set for September 5th, with the Green Bay Packers facing off against the Chicago Bears. Millions of people will be watching this season’s games from home, but there’s only one option for streaming live games — The NFL Sunday Ticket.

While the NFL Sunday Ticket streaming service allows you stream live out-of-market NFL games to the device of your choice, it’s only available via DirecTV and DirecTV Now subscriptions, or as a standalone subscription service (that costs about as much as DirecTV at $74.99 a month).

Even though you pretty much have to get NFL Sunday Ticket through DirecTV, there are still plenty of packages and deals you’ll want to consider before deciding which is right for you. To that end, we’re breaking down all of the ways to stream NFL Sunday Ticket, along with related costs:

The Best Ways to Stream Live NFL Games

NFL Sunday Ticket

Arguably the simplest way to stream NFL games is to sign up directly for NFL Sunday Ticket. The service comes in two tiers, with the cheapest “To Go” version at $74.99 a month for four months (or $293.96 total).

Alternatively, you can opt for NFL Sunday Ticket Max, which costs $99.00 a month for four months (or $395.00 total). Max comes with everything in the typical NFL Sunday Ticket package, along with access to the NFL’s Red Zone Channel and DirecTV Fantasy Zone. You can also add on NFL Game Pass for an additional $50, which is 50% off its typical price.

One downside to this option is that not everyone is eligible to sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket directly. This service is reserved for people who cannot typically get DirecTV for one reason or another, usually due to geography. You can read more about these restrictions and find out if you’re eligible on their website.

Now for the fun part. There’s a significant student discount on the NFL Sunday Ticket. Eligible students will be able to subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket for only $24.99 a month with the promo code BACKTOSCHOOL. That’s a roughly 66% percent discount, bringing the total four-month price to just $99.96. This deal is a no-brainer if you’re a student and a football fan.

Just note that not every school is eligible, and there is an application process required to get this deal. Additionally, you can only stream from one device at a time, so you can’t exactly share this service. And remember, signing up for NFL Sunday Ticket will automatically enlist you in auto-renewal, so you’ll want to cancel before the next season if you don’t want to incur a new charge.

DirecTV is the only cable or satellite provider that allows NFL Sunday Ticket streaming. Packages including NFL Sunday Ticket start at $69.99 a month for the first year. However, you’ll have to sign up for a 24-month contract and opt for paperless billing. Additionally, prices will generally be higher for the second year. With that said, the cheapest package, DirecTV Choice, includes more than 185 channels in addition to NFL Sunday Ticket.

DirecTV Now

DirecTV Now, also known as AT&T Now, grants you access to live streams of dozens of cable channels. It’s also one of the most expensive ways to access NFL Sunday Ticket.

You’ll have to sign up for both DirecTV Now and NFL Sunday Ticket, and there doesn’t seem to be a discount for subscribing to both. With DirecTV Now starting at $50 a month and NFL Sunday Ticket costing $74.99 a month, this option really isn’t the most cost-efficient.
