Marshalls shoppers will soon be able to spend those countless deal-hunting hours in the comfort of their own homes.
In a recent call with investors, Ernie Herrman — CEO of TJX, parent company of Marshalls — announced that the bargain apparel chain will soon have an online platform. The new online Marshalls store is slated to go live later this year.
Marshalls and its sister company, T.J.Maxx, have always offered a unique discount hunt shopping experience. The parent company, however, recognizes the difficulties of replicating this style in a digital space and doesn’t plan on doing so.
Herrman states that online and in-store inventory will differ as much as possible.
He explains that the aim of the website is to drive more traffic to stores and “encourage cross-shopping.” The company looks to mirror the success of TJMaxx.com, launched back in 2013. So, it’s likely we’ll still see plenty of deals, just on different products.
But that’s not the only news. TJX also announced that it will open another 60 T.J.Maxx and Marshalls stores in the coming year.
