On December 16th, 2019, Disney World’s new Riviera Resort will welcome its first guests. If the thought of a European-themed resort appeals to you, here’s the deal.
Walt and Lillian Disney’s mid-20th century travels to Europe and the Mediterranean inspired the interior and exterior details. For example, the building’s facade features grand archways and porticos and there are fountains and gardens along the waterfront. A rooftop restaurant serves breakfast and dinner in the model of European cliffside restaurants.
All Disney resorts have on-site pools, dining, and quick and easy access to Disney parks.
The Riviera Resort’s biggest selling point may be its access to the new Disney Skyliner, also introduced this fall. Guests can enjoy convenient gondola travel to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot with “behind the scenes” aerial views of the parks. The Skyliner runs constantly during park hours and also stops near Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district.
You might be wondering, are the rooms already sold out?
The answer is no, although availability is limited. You can search for your desired vacation dates through the Riviera Resort’s website. If the standard nightly rate of $721.50 is out of your price range, or you just prefer the West Coast Disney experience, check out our tips for saving at Disneyland or learn how to use travel rewards points to book a Disneyland vacation for almost nothing.
In the meantime, get your Disney fix with the new Disney+ streaming service. Catch up on childhood classics like Bambi and Aladdin, as well as contemporary movies and tv shows like The Mandalorian, Moana, The Incredibles 2, Iron Man and an array of Marvel films.
