Nordstrom is the shopping destination for fashionistas who love designer brands, and the retailer’s Nordy Club rewards program helps loyal customers stretch their dollars further.
We’re sharing an overview of how it works — and whom it benefits most.
What is the Nordy Club?
The Nordy Club is available to regular Nordstrom shoppers and card members alike, and it lets you earn rewards based on how much you spend over the course of a year. Its membership levels are divided into the following tiers:
- Member: $0–$499
- Insider: $500+/card members automatically unlock Insider status
- Influencer: $2,000+
- Ambassador: $5,000+
- Icon: $15,000+ using a Nordstrom credit card
The higher your status, the more perks you’ll enjoy, including early access to special sales, alteration services and Nordstrom Note discounts.
What Are Nordstrom Notes?
Nordstrom Notes are essentially store credits that you can use toward future Nordstrom purchases. Notes are earned based on a point system, and members accumulate points at different rates:
- Members: 1 point per $1 spent at any Nordstrom location
- Debit Card Holders: 2 points per $1 spent at any Nordstrom location
- Credit Card Holders: 3 points per $1 spent at any Nordstrom location
Additionally, cardholders will receive two points for every dollar they spend on travel, dining and entertainment when they use their Nordstrom charge card. They’ll also earn one point for every dollar spent at other merchants where Visa credit cards are accepted.
Nordy Club members automatically receive a $20 Nordstrom Note for every 2,000 points earned, although mobile app users can redeem their points for smaller Note denominations instead: a $5 Note for 500 points, a $10 Note for 1,000 points or a $15 Note for 1,500 points.
While earning $20 for every $2,000 spent isn’t too exciting, cardholders with Insider+ status can actually maximize their earnings each year with one to four “Double Points Days” of their choosing.
Nordy Club Membership Benefits
All Nordy Club members receive the following perks:
- Free Basic Alterations
- Reserve Online & Try in Store
- Curbside Pickup
- First to Shop Select Brands
- Access to Beauty & Style Workshops
From there, the rewards increase depending on your membership level. For instance, all members and cardholders with Insider+ status get early access to Nordstrom Rack‘s Clear the Rack sale with 25% off red-tag clearance items.
Who Should Join the Nordy Club?
The Nordy Club is a great way for petite or tall shoppers to get basic alterations at no cost. If you frequently require alterations to clothing, the program is basically a no-brainer.
And if you spend a considerable amount on designer clothing and accessories each year, the program can help you save some cash along the way.
That said, subscription services like Rent the Runway may be a better option for those who enjoy experimenting with the latest trends. Nordy Club is much better for people who want to buy new clothes outright.
The best rewards ultimately belong to Nordy Club card members. In addition to Insider+ membership perks, cardholders enjoy early access to the store’s Anniversary Sale in July and earn Nordstrom Notes at a much faster rate.
Plus, the store offers a $40 bonus Note to new cardholders when they make any purchase at Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com or Nordstrom Rack using their new card the day they’re approved. However, one should never sign up for a new credit card without some serious research.
More of an occasional Nordstrom shopper? Signing up can still reap some decent rewards.
Nordstrom offers Nordy Club members special deals from time to time. For example, you might see something like a $15 bonus Note when you spend $50+ in stores or online at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack or HauteLook.
These offers don’t pop up every day, but they’re something to keep in mind.
