Over a decade in the making, Avengers: Endgame is finally headed to Blu-ray and DVD on August 13th, 2019. This marks the culmination of Marvel's ambitious, 22-film experiment in creating a shared cinematic universe that began with Iron Man in 2008.

Order Blu-ray from Walmart

When Endgame hit theaters earlier this year, it broke box office records and snagged a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Given all the hype, it's not too surprising to learn you can buy the movie in a few different editions, with several retailers offering exclusives including steelbook packaging and special bonus content.

We've put together a list to help you pick the right version of Endgame, with the best current deal listed for each skew.

What Edition of Avengers: Endgame Should You Buy?

Avengers: Endgame is currently available on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as 4K Ultra HD. And as luck would have it, the different editions coincide with the different formats.

DVD Editon:

The DVD version of Endgame is pretty bare-bones. It comes with one disc and seems to lack almost all the special features seen on the premium versions. Most retailers aren't carrying it, though Walmart has it advertised for $19.99.

One-Disc Blu-ray Edition:

The standard Blu-ray edition comes with a code that unlocks a digital version of the film. This "Multi-Screen Edition" also includes a wide range of special features, such as an audio commentary track, deleted scenes, a gag reel and featurettes on the Russo Brothers, Stan Lee, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor and more. The best price we've found for the one-disc Blu-ray is $22.96 from Walmart with free 2-day shipping.

While it's more expensive to buy Endgame at Best Buy or Target, both retailers have the one-disc Blu-ray priced at $22.99, so if you're interested in exclusives or have gift cards you can probably overlook the three-cent markup.

Two-Disc Blu-ray/4k Ultra HD Edition:

The two-disc "Cinematic Universe Edition" comes with both the Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD versions of the film, plus the code for a digital version and all the bonus content featured on the "Multi-Screen Edition." Walmart currently has the best price at $29.96 plus free shipping or free in-store pickup, but several other retailers — including Best Buy and Target — are only a few cents behind at $29.99.

As of August 13th, Amazon is not stocking physical versions of Endgame due to an ongoing dispute between Amazon and Disney. However, you can still buy a digital version through Prime Video for $24.99. While this version is advertised as 4k, Amazon reviewers bemoan the lack of bonus features. The regular digital HD version is also on sale for $19.99.

What Stores Have Avengers: Endgame Steelbooks or Other Exclusives?

While it's tempting to go with the store with the best discount on Endgame, a couple retailers are offering exclusive goodies that may be enough to get your attention:

  • Best Buy: A well-known name in the collectible steelbook market, Best Buy is offering an Avengers: Endgame steelbook exclusive that's identical to the 4K Ultra HD "Cinematic Universe Edition," but with a considerably flashier case. You can buy the Endgame steelbook in-store or online and it's currently running for $34.99 plus $3.99 shipping or free in-store pickup.
  • Target: While Target isn't offering any alternative packaging, its exclusive 4K Ultra HD bundle comes with a collectible booklet called "A Look Back at the MCU." This edition is currently priced at $34.99, with free two-day shipping options as well as free in-store pickup.

When can I stream Avengers: Endgame?

If you're hoping to skip the physical release of Avengers: Endgame, you will be able to stream it using a subscription service eventually, but you'll have to wait a few extra months. Disney has announced Endgame will be streaming exclusively on the new Disney+ service starting December 11th. That's about a month after the service debuts this November.

While it still isn't clear what exactly will be available on Disney's streaming service, we know there's going to be a lot of Marvel content, including several new TV series that tie into future installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Alternatively, you can rent or buy a digital version of Endgame right now from the following retailers:

  • Prime Video — HD Rental Price: $4.99 | HD Purchase Price: $19.99
  • iTunes — HD Rental Price: $4.99 | HD Purchase Price: $19.99
  • Google Play — HD Rental Price: $4.99 | HD Purchase Price: $14.99
  • VUDU — HD Rental Price: $5.99 | HD Purchase Price: $19.99

If none of these Endgame discounts are enough to make you pull the trigger, it's okay to wait a little longer. Popular movies like this usually drop in price over time, so set up a Deal Alert and we'll let you know the next time a hot sale starts up.
