work for you?
Target — like Dell and Walmart — is looking to steal some thunder from Amazon's Prime Day, which was confirmed in June for July 15th and 16th.
In a recent announcement, the company's executive vice president made it pretty clear that Target refused to be overshadowed by Walmart or Amazon. The sale, called Target Deal Days, will also run from July 15th to July 16th, and it's been slated to have over hundreds of thousands of items discounted online.
While Target has yet to reveal any specific deals, the retailer tells us to keep an eye on categories such as home, apparel, toys and more. Obviously, that's pretty vague, but shoppers should pay special attention to Target-specific national brands.
The price-slashing, however, is only half of the online shopping game. To stay competitive, many retailers are adopting different strategies to get you your stuff in the fastest way possible.
If you happen to be a Target REDcard member, you can enjoy free two-day shipping as well as an additional 5% back on your purchases when using the card. Even if you don't have one, orders of $35 or more are eligible for free two-day shipping.
But with its competitors including free one-day shipping during their sales, Target is trying to gain an edge by offering a variety of free methods to allow you to get your items the same day.
Free Same-Day Options at Target
- Drive Up - The retailer's unique in-car shopping experience. Order your items through the Target app, get notified when to head to the store, and get your items loaded in at the designated spot for free.
- Order Pickup - The traditional free same-day method. Shop on Target's website or app, select your store for pickup and retrieve your items from Guest Services when ready.
- Delivery by Shipt - This is a membership-based ($99/Year) grocery delivery service, but new users can get a free 4-week trial through the retailer. Place your order through Target.com and have it at your door within hours.
