Google has been making waves in the world of online shopping, and its latest update is bound to get some attention. Google has redesigned its Image search to help window shoppers browse much more efficiently than before, with a new static window and more detailed product information.

From now on, whenever you click on an image of a product, it's displayed in a window on the right side of the browser along with the product's price, reviews, brand and availability. The image remains static as you scroll through the page, allowing you to (theoretically) compare different items quickly and easily.

Clicking on a new item displays that item's information, and you can hit the "back" button to return to your most recently viewed image. Google also put an added focus on image source pages (like retailers) to help people avoid sketchy sites.

Let's break this down even further.

How to Online Shop Using Google Images

Let's say you want a new grill. Search "grill" in Google Image search, and you'll a plethora of options to choose from.

One of the first to pop up in our test was this Dyna-Glo 2-burner propane grill from Home Depot. If you follow the link, you'll see the grill displayed in the side window with all of the relevant information below the image. The price for this particular grill is $119, and Google shows a 4.2 out of 5-star rating.

Not exactly the right grill for you? No worries. Just click on another image like this one for the KitchenAid 5-burner propane grill and start comparing prices in a flash. Continue scrolling and clicking to window shop to your heart's content. And remember, you can always hit the back button to view the last item you were looking at.

It's pretty easy, which is exactly why Google implemented this update.
