Fios — Verizon’s fiber-optic Internet service — is currently offering its 300/300 Mbps internet plan at a locked-in, discounted monthly rate of $59.99 for new users who sign up for a two-year auto-pay plan. As a bonus, users will also get six months of free Netflix.

As if that wasn't enough, Slickdeals is offering an exclusive $59.99 rebate if you sign up for Fios between March 7th, 2019 and March 31st. You must also date and submit your rebate submission within that time frame. This means you basically earn a free month of Fios internet.

To take advantage the rebate:

  • Click through the "See Deal" link and sign-up for the $59.99/month plan.
  • Fill out this rebate form.
  • Allow 60 days from signing up for your rebate to process.

You must be a new Fios user to qualify for these offers, but at least one user was able to cancel their current Fios contract — for a $20 cancellation fee — and switch to the Fios plan as a new user within a few days. Verizon is also offering to waive the standard set-up fee, which normally costs $99.

What about all those other hidden costs associated with setting up a new internet service provider, you ask? Luckily, Verizon Fios doesn't actually require a modem purchase. According to Slickdealer strange_kiddo, Verizon will install a free Optical Network Terminal (ONT) box to get your internet connection going.

They also note, "If you tell them you want to use your own router you can connect to the ONT box with an ethernet cable. The 'modem' they sell you is a combo unit with a router."

Before you commit to this deal, be sure to check the Fios coverage map. The service is not available everywhere yet, and primarily serves the East Coast, from New York and Massachusetts down to Virginia.

It's also worth noting that some members of the Slickdeals community think 300/300 internet speed isn't necessarily for everybody. Single streaming device households might get along fine with 100/100, for instance.

But as another Slickdealer pointed out, it really just depends on what you're doing with your internet. They note that "a large download (or upload) is where you'll really get value. Videos uploaded to a sharing site will scale almost linearly with your upload speed."

And if you have multiple devices streaming 4K content at the same time, you'll likely be glad for the increased speed.

Either way, for $60 a month you can Netflix and chill to your heart's content. And remember to set a Deal Alert with us to stay on top of the latest internet service promotions.

Special thanks for MW27 for posting the original deal thread!
