The intense feud between Apple and Amazon seems to be settling down, at least for now. Amazon has announced that the Amazon Music app is now available on Apple TV and Apple TV 4K. The app is only available on devices running tvOS 12.0 or higher however. You’ll be able to stream all of your music, including purchased and imported songs, as well as access Amazon’s unique playlists.

It’s likely that Apple has agreed to include Amazon Music on its platform to stymie any anti-competitive legal challenges it might face, as allowing a competitor to Apple Music on its own platform would allow it to contradict complaints that it is unfairly excluding rival apps. Whatever the reason behind the move, Amazon Music subscribers will now be able to stream millions of songs from their Apple TV.

Amazon launched Amazon Music HD in September 2019, bringing a higher audio quality to its music library. The new service implements lossless audio to enhance users’ listening experience. This format was pretty much exclusively used by Tidal before, but Amazon has now jumped into the lossless audio game and is even offering users the chance to download music in the highest quality possible. You can try out Amazon Music HD for 90 days free, just remember to cancel before the trial is up if you don’t want to keep your service.
