If you’re a small business owner who travels a lot, now’s a great time to consider signing up for the AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard from Barclays. Created in partnership with American Airlines, the card’s 75,000-mile sign-up bonus was a huge hit last year—and it’s back for an encore.
How to Earn 75,000 AAdvantage Bonus Miles
For a limited time, new cardholders are eligible to receive 65,000 bonus AAdvantage miles when they spend $1,000 in the first 90 days after signing up. If you add an employee to the account within 30 days and they make a purchase within the first 90 days, you’ll receive an additional 10,000 bonus miles.
Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard Benefits
While the bonus mile deal is nothing to scoff at, there are quite a few other benefits that come with this card:
- 2X AAdvantage miles per $1 on eligible American Airlines purchases
- 2X AAdvantage miles for purchases made with select office supply retailers, telecom companies and car rental services
- 1X AAdvantage miles per $1 on all other purchases
- 5% annual mileage bonus on every anniversary of your account activation
Cardholders also earn perks and discounts anytime they fly with American Airlines. This includes free checked baggage for up to five people, 25% discounts on in-flight purchases, preferred boarding and more.
The card does come with a $95 annual fee, however, and not all applications will qualify.

Choosing a credit card that meets your needs is important, which is why Slickdeals’ Credit Card Hub helps you compare the benefits of different cards, search credit cards by rewards categories, and explore cards by their issuers — all to find the best fit for your wallet. Utilizing issuer bonuses and using a card with a higher cash back rate will help immensely. We recommend the following.
Bank of America Travel Rewards Card: Earn 25,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 in your first 90 days. This $0-annual fee travel card also rewards cardholders with unlimited 1.5 points for every dollar spent.
Chase Sapphire Preferred: Right now, this $95-annual fee travel rewards card comes with a huge sign-on bonus. New cardholders can earn 60,000 bonus points (worth $750 in travel) after they spend $4,000 in their first 3 months. This card is popular among travelers because it earns 2X points on travel and dining worldwide and points are worth 25% more when redeemed on travel.
Chase Sapphire Reserve: Like the Sapphire Preferred, new cardholders can earn a huge sign-on bonus of 50,000 bonus points (worth $750 in travel). The Chase Sapphire Reserve gives cardholders even more perks than the Preferred with 3X points on travel and dining worldwide and making points 50% more when redeemed towards travel. The $450 annual fee doesn’t seem like much after you consider the yearly $300 travel credit applied to your account.
