The Best Things to Buy in July 2018
July is just around the corner and not only is the temperature heating up, so are the sales. With July 4th coming up as well as Amazon Prime Day on July 16th, you may be wondering what are the best things to buy. The deal experts at Slickdeals have done the work for you. Read on for more details:
Amazon Prime Day was huge last year, with over 61,000 people cashing in on the $5 Amazon credit with $25 gift card purchase, and we expect to see this as a big day to score some deals again this year. Slickdeals conducted a survey of more than 2,000 Americans and found that 68 percent of respondents are familiar with Prime Day, whether they are Amazon Prime members or not. Of those familiar with the day, the majority of have found the deals to be “just okay” (55 percent), but only 5 percent of the respondents found the deals to be “poor” or “not good.” Examples of great deals from past years include a household essentials sample box for $15 plus $15 credit to be used on a future purchase, as well as a $10 credit with eligible Alexa deal. Bookmark our Amazon Prime Day coupons and deals page for more info.
It may feel too early to start thinking about back-to-school, but we expect lots of early back-to-school deals to start this month, especially for apparel. Nordstrom Rack had their extra 25% off clearance sale with kids’ clothing starting at just $3. Aeropostale offered an extra 50% off clearance coupon, and Best Buy had their Black Friday in July sale. Backpacks are usually at the top of most back-to-school shopping lists but we suggest waiting until August to pull the trigger.
On the heels of E3 and with school out for the summer, it’s no surprise gaming deals are popular this month. Last year, the Super NES Classic was a hot deal at $80, which isn’t even a discounted price, yet 90k people jumped on the opportunity to score one. Playstation Network also had a flash sale offering up games starting at just $5. Keep an eye out for similar deals this year if you or someone you know is a gamer.
Summer is the time to get in shape and you’ll be happy to know that sportswear and fitness sales abound. PUMA’s semi-annual sale garnered men’s and women’s shoes from $20, and Nike followed suit with their ever popular extra 20% off clearance sale. Not to be left out, Adidas jumped on board with 30% off select items and men’s Superstar Boost shoes for $42.
