’Tis almost the season to deck the halls and set up the Christmas tree, but a newer trend is turning a traditional holiday choice on its head in what has been a very untraditional year. Rather than the more common green (or even white) artificial Christmas trees, some people are now choosing to go with the holiday staple in black. (Heck, my BFF puts up a small real-life tree every year just for her dog, complete with dog-themed ornaments dedicated just to the one tree! Got to love a fun holiday tradition that makes you smile!)
A black tree is chic, unexpected and, as one intrigued Slickdeal community member pointed out, could serve double duty every year since it would also “look really cool for Halloween.” As an added bonus, setting up a black Christmas tree could also serve as a fun new fall tradition in your home to countdown your way to the holidays and perhaps inspired by the holiday classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. The trend we are seeing online for the black trees is to try to get the tree up for Halloween and decorate it all the way through the end of December, with your preferred theme or unique color combo.
Slickdeals has seen a Yaheetech black 6-ft. Christmas-Halloween tree on sale for as low as $53.99 on Amazon (Reg. Price: $69.99). While the sale is currently over, you can always set a Deal Alert to get notified when this or a similar item drops back down in price.
Meanwhile, this black pine Christmas tree on Wayfair does double-duty for Halloween for $97.99 while Amazon has a 6-ft. black tree with stand on sale right now for $59.99 (Reg. Price: $69.99). However, if you really want to switch things up this year, go for a white, orange and yellow candy corn tree (Reg Price: $29.95) that will take you from Halloween to Christmas.
