Macy's Black Friday ad
Macy's Black Friday ad scan has surfaced on the Web and it features 56 pages worth of deals for the holiday, same as in 2014. However, according to our data, most people didn't make it all the way through it last year and gave up after 10 pages or so. This year will probably be very similar.

Macy's will open their doors on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m. and will be open all night until 1 p.m. Friday. Then the next wave of people can shop between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Pretty much the exact opposite of what REI is doing.

Let's check out some of the best deals from their Black Friday ad.

Noteworthy Deals

The Bella Rocket Blender will be on sale for $8, which is 60% less than what you'd pay for it today. Amazon sold it for the same price on Black Friday last year, and we've seen it for $10-$12 a few other times this year. It's definitely as low of a price you'll see for this, but we're only talking about a few dollars.

There are several deals on clothes, like Alfani men's dress shirts ($20), cashmere sweaters ($40) and puffer coats ($20), but the prices go up $15 to $30 after 1 p.m. on Black Friday. They do have a Savings Pass you can cut out from the ad scan, however, (snapping a picture of it on your phone is probably acceptable as well) which will give you $10 off $25 or more, or $20 off $50 or more.

There will be double discounts of 15% + 35% off on blenders, juicers, food processors and tea and coffee makers for their appliance doorbusters. However, prices will go up after 1 p.m. on these items as well. Other kitchen appliances in the $10 range includes an electric griddle, rice cooker and deep fryer. All perfect Christmas presents for parents/grandparents that won't break the bank. Or you can save them for totally random wedding gifts for someone next year.

Skip These Deals

The KitcheAid stand mixers might look like great deals, like the 5-qt. Architect for $265 after a $50 rebate, but we've seen much better deals than that. Last year, some Slickdealers got them for $160 at Bed Bath & Beyond after combining a 20% off coupon with a mail-in rebate. Wait and see what Kohl's and Target are doing for Black Friday before you make a beeline to Macy's for these mixers. You will probably be able to get a better deal there with Kohl's Cash and/or coupons.

Another misleading deal is the Chicago Cutlery Insignia 18-piece knife set with block for $99. If you look at the regular list price of $250 you'd think this is a crazy steal, but it's not. You can get this for about $75 to $80 if you set up a Deal Alert for it. Last December it was selling for $75 on Amazon. It's a decent set of knives, but as user echostorm said, they're kitchen knives, "if you want a samurai sword, move on." In other words, the $250 price tag is not reflecting the quality of the set.
