The Featured Deals section at the top of the Slickdeals home page contains deals that may be sponsored by the merchant. If you prefer not to see these Featured Deals, you can easily remove them by unchecking the "Show Featured Deals" box in Personalized Frontpage. You can find Personalized Frontpage by clicking the gear icon above the first row of Frontpage Slickdeals. Note that removing the Featured Deals section will not show more Frontpage deals, it will only collapse the module and move everything else up on the page.
Similar to the Featured Deals section on the Frontpage, the Featured Deals shown on the Popular Deals page contain deals that the Slickdeals team feel are worthy of some extra attention. All Featured Deals here were popular deals before they were considered for a Featured Deal slot, and we’re still showing the same number of Popular Deals. The Featured ones are simply an added bonus. Retailers can pay us to be featured in this section, but the deals still need to maintain a positive rating from our community to keep its place.
The Featured Deals section on category and store pages contain some popular deals that the Slickdeals team feels are worthy of promotion. We use objective criteria to ensure that the deals appearing in this section add value to our users' experience. Although retailers may pay us a fee for the placement, these deals must maintain a positive response from our community to remain in the section.
Featured Deals may display within search results if they are relevant to a user’s search terms and the Slickdeals team has determined they are worthy of promotion. Similar to other Featured Deals placements, retailers can pay us to be featured within search results but the deals need to maintain a positive rating from our community to be promoted.
