When Will the Target Black Friday Ad 2019 Scan Be Released?

While there is no set date for the Target Black Friday Ad 2019 to hit, Target usually unveils its advertised deals two to three weeks before Black Friday itself. Historically, its Black Friday ads usually leak anytime from November 1st through November 10th.

Based on these previous release dates, we're expecting to catch our first glimpse of the 2019 Target Black Friday ad scan the first week of November. Last year, we saw the leaked ad on the first day of November.

What Time Does Target Open on Black Friday and Thanksgiving?

  • Probably 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, with closing around 1 a.m. (depending on your state)
  • Target will likely re-open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday

Last year, Target opened its doors at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday shoppers. Doors closed again at 1 a.m. Friday morning and remained closed until 7 a.m. Many stores follow the same schedule, but it's best to check your local Target’s Black Friday hours ahead of time.

Target is also known to offer extended holiday hours starting at the end of November, lasting all the way up through Christmas Day to accommodate shoppers' busy schedules. These seasonal hours have varied from store to store, but many locations have opened at 7 a.m and have remained open until 11 p.m. or midnight. Again, make sure to check with your local Target for exact times.

When Does the Sale Begin Online?

  • Wednesday, November 27th for REDcard holders, and Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 28th, 2019) for everyone else

There's no need to leave your Thanksgiving festivities to tussle with the crowds. Target's 2019 Black Friday sale may not officially start until 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving, but its online deals usually kick off sooner.

Last year, the store's REDcard holders enjoyed early online access to more than 100 select Black Friday deals on Wednesday, November 21st, at Target.com. Plus, they saved an extra 5% on their purchases and received free shipping. For everyone else, these Black Friday deals appeared online early Thanksgiving morning and remained available all weekend long. The store also offered free shipping on online orders with no purchase minimum required from November 1st through December 23rd.

What Doorbuster Deals Can We Expect from Target?

Nintendo is the only gaming giant to put out a new console this year — the Nintendo Switch Lite, which retails for $199.99. Expect to see Switch Lite bundles for $199 and a possible gift card deal, as well as PS4 and Xbox Pro 1 TB consoles bundled with a AAA game from the last year.

Target's 2018 Black Friday ad featured a ton of doorbusters, from the latest electronics to smart home essentials. We're expecting similar deals on this year’s newest phones and tech. You can bet on an Instant Pot deal being thrown into the mix too. These exclusive deals were available in-store and online for a limited time (and in limited quantities).

Judging by last year's doorbusters, we expect the store to have something for everyone this year. Here are a few of our predictions for 2019:

Which Deals Are Usually Best at Target on Black Friday?

Scoring low Black Friday prices on top of a bonus Target gift card deal is the way to go. Target loves to throw in free gift card deals (probably so other stores can’t price match Target). These incentives make good prices even better. You can’t turn around and spend your Target gift card on the transaction you earned it on, but you can spend it on a separate transaction. This strategy will keep you on top of your Black Friday budget.

Last year's most popular gift card promotions included the following:

The store's Black Friday sale typically includes competitive prices on TVs, gaming consoles, electronics, toys and home decor. Target is also known to offer good deals on Apple products, so definitely check the store's ad if you plan on upgrading your iPhone or investing in the latest tech this holiday season.

These were some of our top picks from the 2018 Target Black Friday ad:

When is the Best Time to Shop?

  • Online, as early as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day
  • As early as possible on Thanksgiving at physical locations

If you're looking to snag the popular doorbusters, then plan to be in line on Thanksgiving Day. In-store only doorbuster promotions tend to move fast. Thankfully, Target now has employees throughout the store on Black Friday who can check you out via a handheld device. Hopefully, this will cut back on how long you actually wait in line. Looking for deals on holiday decor? It's actually best to wait until the day after Black Friday deals to save the most money.

Last year, Target shoppers could save $25 off of $75 on Wondershop collection purchases. Wondershop is Target’s Christmas line of lights, ornaments, stockings and gift wrap. Many times Cartwheel will have a 20-50% off coupon on a specific holiday decor item in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

More Ways to Save at Target on Black Friday

  • Earn gift cards: The store's Black Friday deals get so much better when there's a free gift card thrown into the mix. Keep them all to yourself, or give them away as holiday gifts.
  • Shop gift card sales beforehand: You already know you're going to drop a pretty penny on Target’s amazing sales, so plan ahead of time. Shop certified discounted gift card sites and eBay accounts to save a few dollars off your Target gift card purchase.
  • Download the app: The store has a history of offering early Black Friday deals to shoppers via its mobile app, so make sure you have the updated version installed on your phone in case similar opportunities present themselves in 2019.
  • Don't bother price-matching: The retailer has an excellent price-matching policy, but it disappears during the Black Friday sale.
  • Take advantage of promos: Last year, shoppers who spent $50 or more on Black Friday received a 20% off coupon that could be used later. If you're planning to spend $100 or more during your Target shopping trip, try splitting up your transaction to get two 20% off coupons.
