Groupon Membership at Nat'l Museum of Nuclear Sci and Hist + Reciprocal Museums $36/Family

Similar to deal last year, but at a different museum:
https://slickdeals.net/e/8515063-membership-at-international-museum-of-surgical-science-reciprocal-museum-worldwide-20-individual-40-family?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I can't get the groupon link - groupon seems slow right now, but it's easy to find. Just search for "Nuclear museum" near Albuquerque, NM.

If you buy today (3/29), there's an additional 20% off with code SALE3.

If you buy 3/30 - 3/31, there's an additional 20% off with code HAPPY20
Family Membership = $45 - 20% = $36

From museum website [nuclearmuseum.org]:
Your membership to the Museum means you have free admission to more than 300 science centers across the country. To learn which science centers allow you free admission, visit the Association of Science-Technology Centers.
You can call to activate the membership.

ASTC info [astc.org]

Per the rules, you cannot use ASTC member benefits with 90 miles of your address or the museum with which you have membership. We use the ASTC membership benefits while traveling.

At $36 for a family membership, the card pays for itself after one use at a lot of member museums.

Cool, thanks OP. Wonder how they came up with 90 miles as opposed to 75 or 100.

Just to clarify. You buy the groupon, then you call the Nuclear Science museum to actually get the membership (activate the membership). Groupon claims you'll have your card within 1-2 weeks, but I would allow at least 4 weeks to get your card.

Once you have your card, you just present your museum membership card at the museum you're visiting along with your photo ID. I have no idea how they know if you live within 90 miles. Per the thread last year, they don't really check, so if there's a museum 75 miles away, you could probably use your card, but it's not guaranteed.

I'd say it depends on the museum you're trying to visit:
You should be good at the Mid-America Science Museum, but you might not have such good luck at the Explorit Science Center.

Mid-America Science Museum ( Check IDs)
500 Mid-America Boulevard,
Hot Springs, AR 71913
(501) 767-3461 www.midamericamuseum.org
F: Up to five people, one must be named on
card.

Explorit Science Center
3141 Fifth Street, Davis, CA 95618
(530) 756-0191 www.explorit.org
F: One or two adults; children 18 and
younger living at member's address.

This deal has expired - can anyone recommend a new ASTC Groupon deal that does not require visiting the museum personally to redeem? Thank you!
