Wait a few months more if you want an iphone. You can get it less than $200.

Please read that - you had to have tried and failed this week to be able to get the exception next week.

I wonder how this impacts those trying to add lines since you were trying to get a new number. Awaiting a call from exec relations at VZW since my account is stuck in 6 month fraud status from all the target inquiries.

I had a bad Target experience this week. They couldn't upgrade the phone because it was still under a "two year contract." But I called Verizon and they said it was ok with a "Two year contract to Device Payment Plan promotion." Target couldn't utilize it. After a couple hours at Tatget on Sunday, I gave up. I've been talking to Verizon all week, complaining about this and asking them to just change my contract status to make it easier on Target to get me the phone. They said it's hard to change contract dates, but they just credited 300 on my account to "make up" for me not getting the discount at Target. Now, after this post, I wonder if I still can get the 300 dollar gift card fromtarget next week. I was there for hours, but I'm not sure if they took down my name cause I wasn't able to upgrade.

I had the same experience yesterday. 3 hours later I finally got the new phone. Had to call Verizon first then target.

What department credited the $300? I couldn't get the deal either because of the bs with target's system

No phone rep can give you $300 credit. It takes an offline department to do that and the only way they would do it would be if there were some Verizon deal that was misrepresented.

That poster did not get a $300 credit. He may think he did, but he didn't.

Your statement isn't correct. I'm in the call center for the CS department for Verizon and ANY phone rep can get a supervisor in the department to do credits of over $1000 with a quick authorization and operation managers CAN reset contract dates

Anonymous posters on the internet can say anything, doesn't make it true.

Verizon is not resetting contract end dates any more for anyone except grandfathered UDP. Now you can do a DPP while still on contract with a 15% downpayment or 30% depending on how much time you have left on your contract. But your CED remains the same and you pay $40/mo line access fee until your CED.

Verizon does not give you a bill credit because you weren't able to do a Target deal. The end.
