I'm a little disappointed at the lack of creativity in the posted S&W M&P Shield deals. C'mon guys, this is Slickdeals... Confused You're supposed to be using coupons, paying with discounted gift cards, and getting the MIR. laugh out loud

Like buying the Performance Center Shield 9mm w/Tritium Night Sights version at Cabela's for $494.99 [cabelas.com], adding a $10.50 box of Fiocchi 9mm ammo [cabelas.com] as a filler, applying the $50 off $500 coupon (176YF50), paying with gift cards bought 20% off on eBay (from prior GC deals), and getting the $75 S&W rebate [cabelas.com].

Which, would bring the net out of pocket cost after rebate of the Performance Center Shield 9mm w/Tritium Night Sights to $311.25 with a free box of ammo (assuming 6% sales tax).

Or, get the Performance Center Shield 9mm version at Cabela's for $424.99 [cabelas.com], adding 8 boxes of $10.50 box of Fiocchi 9mm ammo [cabelas.com] as a filler (and something to shoot), applying the $50 off $500 coupon (176YF50), paying with gift cards bought 20% off on eBay (from prior GC deals), and getting the $75 S&W rebate [cabelas.com].

Which would bring the net out of pocket cost of the Performance Center Shield 9mm to $249.98 after rebate (excluding the ammo's cost here) and you'd have 400 rounds of 9mm ammo that you bought for ~$0.16 a round (assuming 6% sales tax) [total out of pocket for the gun and ammo is $314.15]. nod

You could also get the .40 cal in place of the 9mm in the 2nd deal for the same price too. I'm not sure if there's a good deal on .40 ammo to use as filler though.

In store pick-up only, but no FFL fees like the other deals and it's a higher end gun. The coupon is online only, so you have to order online and have it shipped to your local Cabela's store.

I think the $50 off $500 coupon expires 4/2/2017. I'm not sure when the sale on the S&W M&P Performance Center Shield handguns expire. The "weekly" ad they're in says 4/2/2017, but some of the tags on the S&W M&P Shield handguns in store said Exp: 5/31/2017 (not all). I don't know if that will carry over online as some of the prior online deals that are now expired are still going on in store so they may not be synchronized.

Well done. We need more people like you on Slickdeals.

If I hadn't bought yet another firearm just yesterday, I would seriously consider this

Can also use mags and/or holster as filler.

That's slick!

Tax is typically more than FFL fee.

Wow. This is slick. I'd upgrade from my current Shield 9mm w/thumb safety for this price. Wish I'd been buying the eBay Cabela's GCs each time. Doubt there's time now to get $500 worth though before sale ends. Raise is 13.2% off though.

SVM on eBay doesn't have them 20% off often enough as far as I'm concerned. Frown Maybe I need more than one eBay account so I can buy more at a time.

I wasn't aware of them, so thanks for the heads up. wave

Yes, but the point of my mentioning it was that the ~$250 net out of pocket fee didn't need an extra FFL fee like most of the other non-PC Shield deals people were posting. There's a FFL local to me that will do it for $20 for the first item, $10 for each additional which is pretty good AFAIK. Others around here are not so cheap.

I've been sitting on some cabela's gift cards so I'm in. For those that don't have access to the gift cards, you can still get the non-night sight version from Palmetto State for 244 after rebate:

Is it worth getting the one with tritium sights?

Current pricing where I bought mine had tritium models at $80 more, but the night sight model also included a third magazine (making it less than $50 for OEM tritium sights with the extra magazine factored in). The deal breaker for me was the 45 is not offered with the night sights and manual safety, which is what I'm used to. If you are thinking of night sights, the upgrade would be very worth it. I must note, the factory 3 dot sights are a very "bright" white.

FWIW, that's not a Performance Center model which both of the models in the OP are.

Looking for something similar in size to a Glock 17. Any ideas?

For ~$250? Or why aren't you just getting a Glock 17?

Buying my first handgun and just want something to get some range time with. I like the Glock 17, but it's obviously a lot more expensive. Is there a full size version of the M&P that qualifies for the rebate?
