Got mine for around this price last time they had a deal via Tom's website. Love it and would highly recommend if you care about the quality of your brew.

Broke my 6-cup, bought a 3 cup, and broke that too, both my fault.

Ordered this 8 cup and still had my filters from the 6 cup!

Tax in NJ.

These larger ones are also great to filter the concentrate when making cold brew.

Thanks!

It's been awhile since I've bought Chemex filters from Cost Plus, but it was the lowest price I could find at that time. Consider stocking up.

This product came highly recommended by a specialty coffee company in my area. Chemex is great in general. Even pros in the industry recognize them. In for 1.

They make very diff cups. Aeropress can give you an in-your-face bold flavor, with texture from the bits of grind that fall through. Chemex will give you a super clean cup. Some people complain that Chemex filters absorb too much flavor, but that can be adjusted with your ratio. Chemex will give you results similar to pour overs. I will argue that you can get more consistency and better flavor abstraction with a Chemex. That said, I prefer Chemex over Aeropress any day, but a Kalita pour-over over a Chemex. I never cared for Aeropress.

I haven't made a hot cup of coffee with my Chemex in over two years, but I started using it to filter my cold brew. Their thick filters work great, and it pours clean!

In for one. Some days I use my plastic Melitta pour over because Aeropress only makes one cup at a time. This should be a nice upgrade over the Melitta which my brother may have ruined by putting flavored grounds through it a lot. I hear that problem doesn't happen with glass, at least according to glass water bottle manufacturers.

is the 8 cup too big for two people? I imagine the 6 cup might be better size wise?

you might consider getting a glass or ceramic Hario V60 too, it'd be a step up from the plastic Melitta and easier to store and clean than the Chemex. I've always wanted to try but hesitated with the Chemex because of the space it takes up and being less flexible or versatile than the V60 or Aeropress. Plus I have too many coffee contraptions already.
This price looks good though so I am definitely itchy to pull to the trigger.

Does anyone have advice for ground coffee or whole bean? I just bought the ninja coffee bar that is similar to this and I use it for making iced coffee.
