How is this router? I have Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X Router performance is good so far. Should I change? I had issues with internet (their issue really) and comcast told me that my router is very old and need replacement.

On Amazon, there are lots of complains about frequent connection dropping with newer AC5400, Linksys EA9500 and that's around $350 now. I am not sure that was also the case with this older version EA9400.

Hasnt it always been the case for Linksys routers dropping signals? I remember it since the day of wrtg54. Had to reflash with ddwrt to automate restarts every morning

if you live in an apt building, don't buy this router - your neighbors will hate you for it.

Just bought an AC88U. Don't think this has VPN Client mode, and unclear about link aggregation- CES writeups say "WAN to LAN aggregation" (I'm assuming they mean WLAN), but Linksys themselves don't say anything about teaming two gigabit connections together. Basically, it seems like this has some good stuff, but ultimately still the EA9500's little brother, whereas the Asus is the top-tier product, full stop.

Hopefully someone has more info about either of these points, because I'd gladly save a few bucks if I'm wrong. Smilie

ah...this brings back memories. That router was the worse I've ever owned with constant disconnections. I switched over to Netgear and have had good luck with them for the past 3 or so routers. Waiting for the x4s to drop further in price to upgrade me r6300v2.

Bought a early version of the 54G back in 2003....it was so bad that I didn't want to touch wifi for, 5 years?
